Oh yes. Been sick as a dog lately (food poisoning), but I've finally caved in an bought a new s3.

I've got a doctors appointment this morning, but after that I am off to see Chester Audi (who may I say have done a sterling job in turning round a cancelled S3 order).

A3 3.2 Sline Dsg Q gone...

.... back in an S3.

Will be interesting hearing how different to a 3.2 the S3 really is, mind you the compare will be a DSG and a manual.

Yeah, on the new s3 (I demo'd first) to 3.2.. well the words that spring to mind about the s3 is that its very whizz/bang. The pickup up is steady, and then suddenly the car takes off. It's very quick. It's also very nibble and light in the handling department.

I'd say that I still prefer the delivery of the 3.2v6, as it's a very relaxed engine and a pleasure to drive. However, I miss the characteristics of the old s3 (and it's rarity), and the new one is undoubtedly quicker, much freer reving in all gears than the old one. It also has the much better 8p chasis to back it up. Not sure that you could do much to improve the new s3 (other than ecu upgrade).

The DSG will be a miss, but at the same time it could never allow me to react as quickly as I could with the manual s3. So you adapt your driving style to suit. It's a trade off, as it a fantastic gear box 98% of the time on the road. Especially when the majority of driving is bumper to bumper on 3 lane motorways. I hate the M56! at the minute.

Her she is.. ignore the banger sitting next to her....

Can I just say the flat bottom steering wheel adds 25 bhp and takes at least 0.5 sec off 0-60 time too.

I noticed that too... ;)

Welcome to the club. What spec is the car? I noticed the silver seat inserts, a concert II+ headunit, light & rain sensors and the excellent flat bottom wheel.

The spec is as you say flat bottom, 2-tone leather, auto wash/lights, FCA, cruise, rear park sensors, BOSE, 6 cd changer in glove, interior light pack, and I think home link too.. It wasn't my order. And a bit expensive really. Still loving that flat bottom, it feels a lot smaller than the sline wheel, making the car more chuck-able.. Got to watch that just read the 2/3 top speed rule and no full throttle...

Simply stunning mate..... 4 weeks tomorrow till mine arrives...... the BEST colour IMO!!! :)

I though it was cool of chester audi to line her up with an RS4, apparently its just come out of the showroom for demo. Hard to believe really. Such an expensive car. They've also got an s6 in sprint blue too!

Not really that cool, really cool would of been for them to swap the wheels over for you !! He He !

Enjoy the car mate, mine is the nuts !!!!

By the way you forgot to say the steering wheel adds 35mph to the top speed.

I also spotted the all important extra option a sun band! Hmm, still not quite sure why that is an option for the glass...

Lovely colour and spec, I still have to wait two more months! :crying: sniff, sob.

So besides the sunblind, no one spotted the security glass?

The car has the darkest rear side and rear screen tinting I've ever seen... Dealer fit.

I'd be interested to see more pics of the security glass if you could. Mine's coming in sprint blue and would be good to see what it's like.

Thnx

okay give me a few days, the proper camera can't be connected to the pc right now (I've just moved house and the pc's in a box). Phone camera is naff. But what I would say is get the front and rear sides done, mine's a bit like a fast van at the minute with only security on rear & rear sides..

Good to see you're enjoying the car Lee, our forecourt is a little more boring without the sprint blue s3 to look at. Looking good in the photos, make sure you keep it that way!!!!

Thanks again for the business

Chris and Gwyn

I have the dark tints on my Phantom Black S3. They are factory ordered. They just don't advertise the fact - only on Sportback. £320 I think.
