Facelift UK RS3 Saloon/SB (400ps) Order Thread...

You need to be logged into your Audi
You need to know your order number
You need to copy and paste that order number into the address bar (Replace order number in text with the actual order number)

If you want the most accurate representation of your order:

1. Open a web browser and load the following URL after logging into the MyAudi website

2. Then copy/paste the text that appears and go to jsonlint.com and paste it in and click 'validate' (this puts it in a more readable form)

3. Now scroll to the bottom and look for 'translatedOptions'. You'll find a list of three-letter codes, these are the options that have been added to your car. You'll need to go to the Audi A3 Brochure and look up the option codes and make sure these are what you ordered (You can find it here).

Perfect, it works now, thank you. Is there a beeakdown on the order status codes ?? Mine is at 30 and has been for what seems like ages

I pick up my FL on Monday. Just been to see it before it is PDI'd. Coming from a 16 plate FL i was expecting it to sound a bit dull but on start up...it sounds great though, more tuned, little less grunt. I heard a TTRS take off too and that sounded epic. Not quite as deep as my current PFL...but epic nonetheless. The FL updates are worth it in my opinion, just from a looks point of view alone - and thats without driving one yet. They had 4 PFL Rs3's in the carpark waiting to be sold - and can't see them going anytime soon as they still have a few new cars coming in without owners apparently...and with finance deals as they are it's cheaper to be in a new one than an old one.

Can't with for Monday, they are not washing it, will be delivered as is and is going straight to the detailers. I will update here with my verdict though. Having had an R8 for a few days recently I am sold on the Virtual cockpit - loved it. So as long as the car drives the same or better as my current one i'm sure i'll be stoked.

Done a 1000miles now in my Sportback FL and it's a mental car. You'll love it.

How long did yours take to go from 38 to 39?

Mine left the factory on the 22nd, was in the port and had been allocated a ship yesterday (25th). Your timescales show that in the next week it should be on a ship? :O

Just noticed your status descriptions aren’t right. Waiting for a ship is 38, on ship is 39 and 40 is in the UK. That tells us that your car spent 5 days on a ship? That doesn’t seem right, it should only be 24 hours.
 
Anyone still looking to place an order, I just got an email from UK Car Broker saying they are taking orders on the new RS3 starting at £41,731. £2.5k discount. Assume it will be limited at this price, but just a heads up for all :)

It's had that level of discount for months, I remember seeing it in August and its in the discount thread too.

It was until you did the spec on it, my total wasn't £2.5k when I looked.
 
I never ended up talking with them but using their configurator, it starts with £2,625.90 savings with no options and every option you tick increases the savings. I think its to do with the lower option prices. Optioning it up to the spec I want gives me just under £3k saving so around 6% discount.

They only advertise the sportback and the savings are £2,569. Not bad at all.

However, it may be at the opposite end of the country so factor in travel time and expenses and a possible day or 2 off work wasted. Aberdeen to Plymouth wouldn’t be much fun. I wouldn’t mind paying £500 more at my local dealer as opposed to saving £500 at the opposite end of the country. Always good to have a good relationship with your local dealer too incase you ever need to use their goodwill.

Yes, it was only on the boat for a day if I remember right. Still, it seems to have been sitting in the port in Newcastle for a week now waiting on the transport to my dealer. No real hurry.

The saloon is there too but for some reason they write it as just RS3, its under RS6 Avant and above the RS5. You're right about the dealer being far from you. In the discount thread there are people getting bigger discounts at their local dealer so I'd take Ukcarbroker/Drivethedeal as minimum discounts. I don't think my local dealer would give 10% discount though.

Not true.
Ive bought 3 cars from them now.
The last 2(RS3 and S3)were delivered to my door in Glasgow FOC.
They give 6% discount on RS3 and 6% on any options -thats why discount increases when you add options.
Will work out about 3K on a 50K car.
Good guys to deal with.

I agree - they gave me the most competitive quote but, sadly, after I had already dropped the deposit. Mind you, Watford Audi had arranged a the test drive, settled a deal not far away from the pricing (they matched Drive the Deal) and are local so there were merits in staying with them anyway.

Question is was it something which the dealer should have put on or should it have been on from factory??

@terminator x Only just remembered about the clip of the engine pulling back at the red line. I’ve shortened a clip of the one example I have on video, but it usually seems a little more violent.

Why is that guy spiking the revs, it makes no noise other than nasty rev noise! I'm so annoyed with Audi about that, yes the car is still batshit crazy just less crazy than before.

Yes, downshifting for fun in the FL is now pointless and actually quite nasty. I mentioned in my review I was just getting more and more frustrated. If I got a FL I'd have to get it straight to MRC to engineer some pops and crackles in...sod the warranty!

Lmfao, yes it’s me ;)

IMO the car still sounds good on downshifts, you still capture some of the roar it has to give but yes it’s missing pops. But I’d rather have a 5-pot that doesn’t pop rather than an S3 that did.

I haven’t thought much more about driving gloves other than I think I will leave it and have the wheel re-trimmed when it goes bad.

I’m worrying a lot less about sound now, it will sound incredible... somehow I’ve somewhat forgotten about the lack of pops, the whole package should make up for it.

Just picked mine up. Didn't give it the beans but sound is better/louder at low speeds...up to 35/40 ish mph...I think i saw a video review that confirmed that too. I got more looks in this than PFL driving around town because primarily of the sound being louder at cruising speed i'd say.

At idle the sound is not so loud though/hard to hear in the car whereas the PFL it was easy to hear. This car seems to react more to warm up time though....gets louder/richer every minute at idle (does not reach PFL volume though). Can't comment on downshifts or driving hard yet. Literally had them pull the covers off with no prep so it was not the best looking car in the lot, but it will be on Friday after its detail and protection.

Worth the upgrade in my opinion and thats without shoving blasted around the lanes yet.

It is quiet in the car, with the pan roof open you can hear it - so outside it must be loud. I know you can def hear me coming :smiley:

Oh boy - it is taking an epic amount of time to come! You would have thought they would want to close the sale and get the monies in the bank having built the car so long ago.

Well it left the factory on the 22nd, so not doing too bad and was at Emden on 25th. My build date was predicted 16th October, but it came out right at the end of that week.

On Wednesday it will have been at the port for a week, I’m hoping now that it will be on a ship in the next 7 days. I checked the weather for Emden, rain :( So even worse it’s sat out in the rain, poor Mica Pup :(

I was more worried about the storm surge that hit northern Germany yesterday and flooded Hamburg (only a few miles along the coast from Emden).
Seems that all is OK though.

Mines was on the boat on the 20th and was delivered to my dealer late last night on the 30th so 10 days from leaving Emden.

I’m hoping my dealer is going to speed that up, if mine is sat in Grimsby I will be getting really frustrated. Ideally the car needs to be at the detailer next week.. :(
 
10days is about what I had. On tyres boat, in the UK - dealer ours in a delivery request so then the 7-10dsy wait. They PDI'd the same day they got it for me and I collected late afternoon.

Frustrating :( :( I’ve asked the dealer for a cost to collect the car from the port themselves.
