OK, A couple of years ago I had my rear shocks and springs replaced due to weeping shocks and snapped coils. they were replaced with KYB ones

This "before" pic from a short while ago, the front suspension in the before pic is original and on about 130k miles, but the springs at this point hadn't snapped, the rears are the KYB's I had fitted about 20 months back and you can see its sat fairly evenly

Last week I've had my fronts replaced too for the same reason, went with KYB again assuming it would look normal. But now it's sat too high at the front. I can't get a pic until Thursday, but I can fit my upright fist easily in the gap between the arch and the tyre, as if the car's surfboarding!

I know new suspension needs to settle but I genuinely think it's not gonna look anything like it does above, the installer insists the shocks and springs ordered are correct for my car but he's ordered another set for the supplier incase they were "packaged incorrectly" at the warehouse

How much settlement should new suspension give, and how long should it take?

Why don't you just get some H&R's. Not only will they look better but completely transform the handling :)

I didn't wanna "modify" the suspension (although it literally looks necessary now), I can't justify shelling out on a lowering kit after spending the cash to get the existing suspension replaced, it's not like I can return the shocks and springs I just had fitted last week

The weather being as bad as it has been hasn't helped but here's the current situation!! (after approx. 150 miles
It's far from "correct"

They've probably given you the wrong springs. If yours is a sport then they have given you springs for a standard SE model which is 15mm higher than your sport model that's why it is sat higher
Where are the new parts from?

That's exactly my thoughts, it's ridiculously high, my mech assures me they're 100% the right ones (according to his supplier, having ordered using my car reg as the reference), but did say the supplier said not to rule out that the springs could have been put in the wrong box before distribution. It's going back on Wednesday and another set of springs has been ordered, and my mech saw for himself today how the car is sat and agreed it looks embarrassingly high

They're definately not the right ones. Look on autotrader at SE model a3's and it'll be a similar arch gap to what you now have.

I've got an s Line and my local garage replaced the front springs and he uses euro car parts, with my reg they sent him sport springs and not s Line and I could tell it were higher straight away. They were changed again but I had to get the s Line springs from TPS which were then the correct ones.

problem solved, got the springs replaced with the correct ones and it's riding how it should be
