I'm picking up on Monday at 11am. I'll check that each of my options is actually there (!), and from reading other posts here I'll try to get the MMI app set up and talking to my car, with Google Maps etc working on the virtual cockpit.

Are there any other things I should look out for or get the dealership to demonstrate? My last two cars were delivered remotely to me new so I didn't have the opportunity.

Thanks

Goes without saying, but give it a thorough go over. Check all the panels for scratches or damage and check all the alloys. I collected a new 3 series a few years back and one of the alloys had a chunk out of it.

I wish I had taken this advice: Check that you have removed everything from your old car. Particularly CDs, USBs, Sim cards, window stickers (AA, National trust etc.) and stuff in your old glove box etc. etc.

Yup, forgot to take my National Trust sticker from my old car, thankfully the salesman lives on the same road as me so dropped it off on his way home :)

Check tyre pressures asap, make sure they are not over or under inflated.

make sure you have no nails/screws in the tyre; wish i had checked properly, luckily they admitted liability as i found it when the car only had 30miles on the clock.

Thanks all, after a slight paperwork delay (Audi sent stuff late on Friday to someone who's on holiday!) I'm off to collect in half an hour. These are all great points.

At least the timing means I'll get to play with the Matrix lights on the way home!

Back home now with a celebratory drink and the manual :)

Can't fault the handover, I was there for about 90 minutes and the guy who dealt with me was very good at making sure I had the info I needed. He was quite knowledgeable about Audi Connect setups, which was good. I'm still not properly connected though. All the panels were fine, the wheels, chrome etc as well.

I'm glad I went through every last thing (even got the factory report out to confirm the suspension and fuel/AdBlue tank size changes). It turned out I have a fault with the hands-free boot opening (which I got as part of the Comfort pack). This ended up as something I wish I'd video'd when about three guys went all Monty Python on it trying to make it work. At first one of them brushed it off saying it doesn't always work, etc, but we got a senior tech in who agreed it wasn't working so they'll book it in to get looked at. It's not the worst thing to be faulty.

Audi Connect was a pain, it didn't even recognise the data module to begin with. Following some threads here I restarted the module, tried a few other things but no joy - kept telling me to insert a sim. Now I'm back at home it's half working - I can now download Google Maps etc, but I've not been able to add myself as a key user, whenever I enter the scratch-off code I get a "server error, try again". Given up for now and will go in tomorrow if no joy.

The car is fantastic, even better than I expected and although I've only got the 150PS engine it's noticeably nippier than the 150 in my old Volvo (which was a couple hundred kilo heavier), which is nice.

Matrix lights and the B&O sound system are superb! Adaptive CC working in traffic jams right down to zero is also fantastic (my last car with ACC was a manual). Not had a play with CarPlay yet, will do that tomorrow.

Just need to sort adding a key user to MMI and I'll be very good :)
