Hi All

I’m short I may need to sell my 2016 s3 in the next few months.

I got the car last december after a few months saving and a few waiting to find the right one I wanted and due to circumstances outside my control another 2 months which maybe made me jump onto it rather than waiting for a better priced one, thus far it’s not been a problem with any associated costs but now me and my partner are looking at another house and although I’m trying not to I may need to free up some cash with the car/ remove the finance so we can borrow more.

My question is we buy any car have offered me £24500 which clears the outstanding finance and gives me a few quid, but is there any other places people have used ? I have to look at mike Brewer after a little search here but any others?

Lastly I believe I have to tell Lloyd’s who do my finance and get the settlement to sell it to a company?

I’m Sure you forum wizards can help me out like you have so many others !

Thanks In advance
Tommy

Mike brewer has unfortunately stopped buying cars now! We buy any car have always been the worse for me. Try ‘bestcarbuyer’. They seem good. And you can negotiate if you have a good spec

Really? News to me because they wanted my S3 last week.

So, I’ve just sold my S3 on Friday just gone... trying to forget it with little success.

I spent months and I mean months shopping around for the best deals, Mike Brewer came up on top until the tosspots told me if I didn’t get the car to them with exactly or less than the 12,000 miles on the clock I quoted, they would have generated a new quote which was £1300 less. I’d have been there with around 12,050 miles on the clock.

Do not sell to we buy any car, total rip offs.

Couple of companies I can recommend;

Cash for your Wheels (Google Search).
Sell My Audi (http://www.sell-my-audi.com/)

My car went to the second link above, Weybridge Vehicle Consultants. They offered a pretty decent price and a smooth transaction, I’d recommend them first... a long term Audi Specialist who appreciate top notch cars.

I’ve literally just tried we buy any car as a guess to make sure I clear the finance if I needed, my first hope is keeping the car. But obviously I want the most money I can get if I do need to sell and will try your second link along with any others suggested. Thanks for your post mate

WBAC aren't too bad, my brother used them with success, cleared his finance and was left with no neg equity, they were £1000 more than Audi offered him.

Give Antony from Mantis Cars a call.

http://www.mantiscars.co.uk

He bought my S5 last month. Found him through Tootle.com (also worth a go if Mantis Cars don’t give you a good offer) but will likely get a better deal going direct and Tootle said most of their deals are through them...

They would be easy as the nearest place is half a mile from work , the main thing is to clear finance as I have enough to get a little runabout to last but obviously any extra would help with fees if not the price itself of a house .

It’s on the list of places to enquire thanks for the post ! I’ve asked her indoors and she guesses she will find out In a month if I need to sell the car or not but to be fair to her she knows I love the car and is trying to avoid it , plus she’s worried what I’d get after ! She spent ages trying to get me to sell my r32 which I supercharged

Try Evans Halshaw they tend to beat WBAC and there are no hidden fees. They will call up and clear the finance there and then and give you the balance

Have a look at
https://www.money4yourmotors.com

My mate just sold his M140i to them having looked at the options already mentioned. They dealt with putting private plate on retention and settling finance with BMW, they also come to you. The only issue was it took 3hrs to do the deal with inspection, test drive, waiting on funds to clear etc. Once it all went through keys were handed over and the car was left parked in the street for 4days until it was collected.

Messaged them today, got a call straight away to go over spec etc, their buyer was at an auction and was told they would get back to me..

Very strange, the buying site has now been redirected to their main sales site.

I phoned them and they told me they have stopped buying cars, will only take cars in against a car they are selling now

I did get an email, looking for more than the quote given, but they must be still buying cars...

I’ll second Evan Halshaws. Sold my Countryman to get into the A3 to them and they trounced Audi at Trade-In. Audi offered £10,200, EH £12,400. Yip, 2.2k more than Audi. No brainer for me! @jassyo06 just sold his S3, to whom he’ll be able to tell you.

I wouldn't recommend the rip off Bandit that bought my car off me mate

But out of interest it may be to OP
It's called carrera car specialists

Synter group bought my car off me in September. They purchased for £2,100 more than we buy any car and were also very flexible and easy. They came to my office to check out the car once we had agreed a price and then sent someone to pick it up a few days later. They purchase all over the country. I'm from London and the car was taken to Harrogate.

Thanks for all your replies so far , I knew this forum was a good place to ask !

Currently waiting on the housing people to get back to us with more information so we can work out if I need to sell the car. Between us I think my partner is hoping I can keep it because she knows I love the car ( wishing it had a bigger engine and and thin leather being my only gripes really ) , but as soon as the house people answer the questions I will be back to update

My settlement is around £24k with audi finance and yet I'm getting quotes of £18.5k-£21k with 'webuyanycar,mikebrewer,tootle,cash4cars and best car buyer'.
Not desperate to sell but my dad just gave me back my Subaru WRX for free and so I now have a Subaru and S3.
One is £0 a month and one is £386 a month so I was looking at my options and it seems my only option is to just keep it until the end of the 4 year deal.
Proper 1st World dilemma I suppose but I may aswell Sorn the Subaru as its £75 a month for tax and insurance on top of the S3 and I won't drive it whilst Ive got the S3. The S3 is epic and in a different league to the Scooby for everyday life but a free Scooby is always satisfying lol.
My S3 is 2015 Stronic Sepang SuperSportsSeats, Comfort and privacy glass. 32000 miles

Anyone know much about the "handing it back half way through the deal" scenario?

Yea thats a hell of saving you can make....free is always great...particularly a free scooby!

I think the half way thing you refer to is voluntary termination? I believe its when you have paid off 50% of the finance you owe (so that's the RRP - discount - deposit).

What year is the car? £24k is what a 14 plate with 32k will typically be up for on a dealer forecourt, so if it's that sort of year, I'm not surprised you are getting those sorts of trade ins...

I guess the question is do you pay now to get rid of it and make the savings on the monthlies going forward...?

Tough call...although as you say..not a bad position to be in :p

It's not 50% of the finance, it's 50% of the total car value. This normally is at least 3/4 through a PCP deal.

Ah yes you're quite right. Its the total amount payable...so thats the deposit + finance (inc. GFV) + interest and charges. Have I got that right?

During my first pcp deal, my cars value was always around what my settlement figure was even after 14 months, so l guess it's dependent on what size of deposit you put down on the car, larger deposit less you owe through the earlier stages of the term

Yeah, it's a 2015 Stronic Sportback ....I only put down £1k so probably about right.
The gfv for July 2019 is £17.5k so it seems silly letting it go for around £19k...may aswell rag it....gonna be around £1200 over the mileage by then.
If I take a £5k hit and just keep paying the £386 a month to my credit card....I will be still the same outgoings every month and no S3....if I keep the S3 and just sorn the Scoob, hopefully the Scooby will go up a bit in value with it not having any more miles put on it.
You know what'll happen...il end up getting an RS3 in July 19 instead

Yea seems daft to pay the same amount as you owe to get rid of it now... I guess there are running costs, but not that much and probably already paid for?

Worth bearing in mind that it might be worth less than the GFV at the end of the deal though, so that means just handing it back. That’s when excess mileage and fair wear and tear charges apply. Maybe watch the mileage...?

Have you tried lots of different places for valuations though? Most don’t want to know if you aren’t buying another car from them, but there are garages that will do sale or return (Audi and independent) and there are the options listed in this thread, including the dealer I sold my S5 too. My valuation from WBAC was £1500 less than I got from that dealer.

Yeah, I have had quite a few values now...most under £20k so I'm probably just gonna keep her.

Thanks Lewis. Really do appreciate the mention. All the best, Anthony

Thread revival , after months of waiting for the house company we have found out we have to find another solution long story short .
It does mean I do have to sell the s3 to boost the funds so I will be searching back and emailing the suggested parties on this thread as wbac has dropped to 21k , also I need to get a small ding in the boot as it seems somebody’s used my car to stop the Tesco trolley !
