Facelift UK RS3 Saloon/SB (400ps) Order Thread...

Saw a stunning Ara blue saloon this weekend, gave him a nod and he pulled up next to me for a listen. Was not impressed at all by the idling noise and even less impressed with the pull away. Just my Opinion, but sounded really artificial. Like I said, just my opinion, stunning looking motor.

I think I am set with mine - no more changes. I’m currently sitting at just under £55k.

I actually found an RS3 on Auto trader with all the driver assistance features but they are selling it at £61K!

I don’t have a build week yet however so you never know...

I have XPEL Ultimate on mine. I swear by it. Superb stuff. Two gritters last year and 18 months ownership. Not one mark.
You've only done 1000 miles in it though! ;)

Was this from Worcester Audi?

I sent a screenshot to my sales manager from here, he hasn’t yet replied. I spoke to my case manager at Audi UK for the S3 today who asked the sales office, who said they won’t be applying any discount and to speak to my dealer.

Northampton Audi

That’s good to hear! Fingers crossed with the nightmare I’m having to get the stuff, it will actually do the job.

Update on trying to amend my order and the response is as follows;

Too late to change I’m afraid, I’ll have a talk with my Manager and see if we can match the price of the Sport Pack on your options, you will still have a tyre pressure monitoring system just not with visual pressures and temperatures.

Our salesman has been liasing with Caitlyn at Audi UK who is a Supply Analyst. A little frustrating as there's no consistency, some people are getting amended orders and or discounts. I'll be pushing for the latter seeing as they're adamant that TPMS can't be added despite the car not going into build until week 3

When your order is lockdown, you can't amend anything for any reason, that is a 100% certainty. When I placed my order I selected the magride, sport exhaust and TPMS, this was when the all inclusive sport pack wasn't available. For me to now get the newly released sport pack, no options have to be added or removed so does not affect the build at the factory. Instead, Audi UK have been able to consolidate each of those options and for the purpose of the invoice will now show as 'sport pack' and thus the discount can be applied. It's just a bit of admin involved and nothing physically changes to the configuration of the car.

I am lead to believe that if you only selected the magride & sport exhaust and not the TPMS as well (as in your case), Audi UK will not be able to apply a discount to your order even though you've spent £2000 on two of the options where all three can be had within the sport pack for £1700. I think the reason is obvious, they can't simply give you a £300 discount for the difference and can only change the paperwork so your invoice also shows the sports pack for £1700, but by their definition, yours would not be a sport pack as you will not have the TPMS and so probably for legal reasons they are unable to do this.

With you selecting an exclusive colour, this will explain why your order is already lockdown despite an anticipated build week early next year. I do think you will still get £300 discount directly from your dealer as this will be small change to them.

Can you give me some more information on how you got discount from Audi UK? Because Audi UK told me no they won’t be discounting anything.

This is really annoying, it’s one rule for some and another for me.. this should be simple. It’s worth battling for £500, I just can’t see them giving me the discount. I have all 3 options, my car is expected to leave the factory any day now.

Do you have photos? (Of Alu Lighting) @Ed_rx7

I just amedended my order to the sport pack and red brake callipers. Lol. The only thing left I haven’t specced is uprated wheels (and all the stupid expensive carbon engine and ceramic breaks).

Have a look in my gallery

It all went via my dealer who discussed it with Audi UK. I'm not sure what was said and how exactly this was achieved but will try and find out more info. Initially my dealer told me unfortunately I can't take advantage of the sport pack simply because my order was lockdown. I simply told them it was unfair that I had only recently placed my order, the car has not yet been built, and after just two weeks Audi announced the sport pack that will affect residual of people like me who will have paid £545 more for the same . I asked them if they would speak to Audi UK and relay my grievance, to which they agreed. I really didn't expect anything to come of it but a week later my dealer called me and said after contacting Audi UK it has been agreed that I will get the £545 saving.

If you could get some more information I would be forever grateful :D

My dealer is basically reluctant to contact Audi UK, but if I can tell them who to speak to there then it will be much much easier. Ideally, could you please ask your dealer for the name of the person they spoke to in the sales office at Audi UK? It’s amazing what different stories you get between two people. It would be a breeze with somebody who has done this before. I had 0% discount, I’m trying to soften the blow.

The reason I’m annoyed is that I’d have selected TPMS if I knew it was an option. I was encouraged to spec the car online and TPMS wasn’t on there. I called Audi UK who simply said I should have checked with my dealer - but how was I meant to ask them about something that I didn’t know was available.

It’s not like I’m going for a poverty spec car either, I’ve put over £11,500 of options on it.

Ok. Spoke to my dealer. They have agreed to reduce my cost by the 295:00 stg that I lost out on by
Not knowing the sport pack was available. ( I have ordered the mag and ex not tpms).
I would note though , I only got a 1% discount when I ordered about 2 months ago , I see from the forums
That several have got much bigger discounts than that , so my guy had enough margin in the deal to keep
Me happy and for them to still book a decent profit. If you have got a chunky discount already they may not be
As forthcoming clearly . And they did say it was for goodwill not Audi policy.

My sales manager isn't back at work until Monday, so will report back then with what I find out.

Can anyone that's ordered mag ride individually ( not sport pack ) confirm that it shows as that
In the Audi tracker . When I look on the tracker , go to spec, drill down to safety and tech it just lists
Rs sport suspension no mention of mag ride . Does mag ride show up in the tracker ?
Really grateful if someone could look on theirs before I have another convo with the dealer..
Apologies if I've missed something obvious. Wouldn't be the first time.
Mag ride is on my order form from the dealer ....

Mine has now updated to the Sport Pack so can't help.

Hello Jonny B - Don't panic this same situation has been discussed on here quite a bit over the last 2/3 months, if you've ordered "Mag ride" your car will come with it. It is another anomaly with Audi, just like the tracker saying what stage your car is at........ I'm in a rush myself so haven't searched to show you the relevant posts but if you have minute, you'll be able to see your not alone with your question :)

Hi dunes7, thanks for that and apologies for not finding previous posts.. appreciate the response..will go back to
Looking forward to the car not finding fault with the ordering system!

Was only kidding mate! Would love to be able to keep the miles off mine.
It was always the plan to keep them low as I work away a lot and hopefully come resale I'll reap the benefits? Not sure what my end game is though. Tempted by FL just to be current, but then be daft to change. In a couple of years time not sure what direction I'll take as I'd like to stay with the RS brand. More prestige than the M cars I think and the new RS4 by all accounts had been muted too.

I’ve think this will be the last Rs3 with the 2.5 engine

Yeh that happened to me - i ordered the exhaust and mag but not the tpms - no extra discount as my car was at the uk port when i asked lol and i already had some discount and a decent discount off gap so cant complain.

My deposit more than covered the options so i shouldn't be in too much neg eq for the entire ownership. Paid off the s3 too, so an expensive week!

Whats the next one gonna have a 5 dundt of AAA batteries lol.......this forum is full of Petrol head romantics.....lol
Cant see them changing it for the time being. Issue is what will they change it too....2 litre means itll compete head on with the S3 and people wont bother. I think the only option would be a 2 litre hybrid like the porsche, mclaren and i8. Long way off though, maybe 5-10 years. Audi have suggested this before, so it or something similar WILL happen eventually.

Nah....too sensible for it.....lol and too much power would be wasted on me mate, just on here for tonight too wind up you RS3 punters....lol
Agreed, like my S3, that and the Golf R are perfect daily drivers. S3 nicer interior and quality. Golf has slightly better handling but only really noticeable on a track, which 99% wont use.

Have to run my RS3 in, 1500km! so driving like a nun at the mo.

Look at GAP from ALA, you can save a fortune most of the time... you can cancel your Audi GAP within 14 days with no penalty.

lol let’s see when my car arrives. I may still change my mind you never know. I want the RS3 but when it comes to putting down 15K to cover the neg equity and deposit on new car I might decide against it.

I’m definitely less excited now than I was and add another 6 months...
