S3 gone.....A5 here

After 2.5 years on this forum some people asked me to post pics of the replacement when I collected it...so here it is.

Not as fast as the S3 which was expected, but a lovely looking car and a beautiful place to sit in! Love how you can change the interior lighting colour, feeling blue today

Very nice, what engine do you have? A4/A5 cabins are a real step up.

I had an 08 A5, 2.7 tdi, was a great commuter.

Thanks, went for the 2.0 petrol, book is 43mpg urban, which is crazy for a petrol!

That’s really good, these latest gear boxes really are helping economy, even the s3 isn’t bad now considering the power. Enjoy

I was happy with the S3, I had the manual and was getting around 30mpg, which is good for most cars let alone one with 300bhp!

190 mate, the 252 is the quattro version and a lot more expensive! Luckily I ordered this before they stopped doing the s-tronic 190 combination, if you want the 190 now you have to have it in manual!

I don't know how they justify such an increase; it's huge! I've gone for the 190 too, albeit in an A3 and with a manual box, so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts when you've done some miles.

White really suits the shape and white always looks better when it's been ******* doon, so a colour that will always look great in the UK lol
Love the multi colour led interior light pack something the the A3 lacks although no doubt Audi will add it in when the new model arrives

Aye S-tronic. See what Yiv been missing these last few years lol

Anyway enjoy yer new car mate it looks stunning

Been out this morning, for such a big car it's quick! I put it in dynamic mode and pulled off from the lights quickly (wheel spin ) never had that in the S3!!! But that's a different beast and obviously quattro

I think in the A3 it will be plenty quick enough with the 190, on mine I think 0-60 is 7 seconds, so you should be a tad quicker than that.

**** even my car just being a week old l easily get 36 mpg,my previous S3 only managed 24 mpg for the first few months

Yeah it's an option for about £80 (extended led) after the discount, well worth it. I had a play last night with 3 colours...but there are loads to pick

lol I got in it this morning and went for the clutch

I don't like it when the stop/start is on and you stop at the lights, it feels like the engine has stalled before you come to a 100% stop!

Start stop comes in handy in slow town traffic, that's about it, it's a pain in the rectum all the rest of the time, you'll soon master the autobox just takes a few weeks, then it becomes second nature, when l drive my Mrs fiesta manual of course, l sometimes flip my fingers behind the wheel to use the paddles lol

On steady motorway runs mine will hit 40mpg, average is 36 now which includes a lot of stop start traffic going through Bristol centre. I’m really impressed with the economy, the 7th gear helps a lot.

Should consider getting it disabled through vcds thats what i had done so its never on pain in the **** in my opinion

Just stick the gearbox in sport mode and the start/stop is disabled. Or get one of these https://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/d...agen-audi/coding-interface-disable-start-stop Personally I let the start/stop do its thing, never bothered me the slightest...

@S32B - Your new A5 looks fab buddy. Congrats !
I'm a big fan of ibis white, having had my old B8 A4 for 5 1/2 years

On the subject of stop/start. I hate it with a passion. Always have done
I've used the Carista app on my S4 to programme the SS button to have a memory function. So I've only had to switch it off once & it remembers the last setting
With the change in the way VED is now classified on new cars I don't see the point in SS in the Uk anymore TBH

Really odd as they have now added the 190 s-tronic to the A5 Sportback!
