Some updated shots. I had a few wheel swaps but am back on the HRE's and lowered on MSS sport kit springs.

Also did some interior modding to "finish" the center console with some CF and alcantara. The CF center console is from Neidfaktor and the alcantara work was done by a local shop here. Happy to be rid of all that plastic:)

Neidfaktor took my VIN to match the CF and alcantara to the exact OEM material.

Edit: Also had the Audi OEM CF mirrors and spoiler fitted.

could you tell me what the size/specs of these wheels are? i was looking at them a couple days ago and didnt have a clue what size to get and if they would fit straight on.

Fantastic, great teaser! Can’t wait to see more, how are you finding it?

Discover both cons and pros. Starts with the cons.

In auto and comfort mode, it starts rattle in the exhaust system. But not in dynamic mode... so I turned back immediately. Audi technician went with me and heard that too. Now we will see if it disappears, if not they will fix it / replace the part that causes the rattle ... very disappointed when I buy a brand new car and has problems.

But to the pros, since I have had the PFL model before, I can at least compare with my own experience. Not because PFL was bad, but Magnetic Ride is actually much better. FL is much softer/not as shocky in bad roads, both in dynamic and comfort mode. Don´t know if they have updated the hardware / software but it´s better anyway.

I took it easy with the engine, it has a break-in period of 1500 km, according to the manual. But the sound is clearly different from PFL. The sound feels fuller, especially at lower speeds and lower rpm which is nice. but we will see if the sound gets better/louder after the after the break-in period. Then I can push it harder :grinning:.

Did not think that Virtual Cockpit (VC) made such a big difference to the impression, but it actually does. Feels more "premium" and up to date. and that all necessary info is now available on screen.
At cold start there is a small message in VC, do not to push the car more than 5500 rpm when the engine is cold and that the rev counter red line is at 5500. When the engine gets in right temp, the red line changes to 6600. Also notice that the engine is coming at the right temp. much faster than PFL.

Looking forward to Monday. Got a full day with the FL where I'll be able to jump in and out of my PFL to get a real side-by-side comparison.

Interesting comments re mag ride. I'm not especially impressed with it so will see if it's better on the FL.

Obviously the sound is going to be the most interesting comparison. I've got some of my favourite places to go in the FL where I know my PFL sounds incredible and handles pretty decently.

One odd thing is that i fir some reason thought it came with tte semi auto parking system like you get on the s3. It doesn't and its not an option. Odd. Anyway no biggie as i used it oncec on the s3

Happy with the upgrade? Does it feel like one?

Yes for some reason that’s never been available on the RS3.

Yes to some degree its an upgrade. Drive brakes steering feels alot better. Cant comment on performance. Interior feels a bit better as i dont have ss seats or extended leather. mmi feels a backward step in graphics than the 2014 8v s3. No parking plus system seems odd but i wont miss it as used it once in over 3.5 years on the s3
Sound is miles better than the lame sound on the s3. Happy with it.

Everything great so, except the Audi connect. What have Audi done!? Worked fine with my S3 2014, no issues. Now its a nightmare to setup with 15 million steps using the car, a phone and a computer/laptop. Finally got logged in and the cubic site states my car is an Audi S3 and I have no data plan - WTF!!!!!!!!!! what morons designed this app/setup. It states I need a data plan at £130 for the year (wow, I use a Three preloaded data sim in my S3 and that cost me about £25 for 12gb for the year, not £130!)

Also the manual is USELESS as its for those Audi A3's with the SIM card slot like my S3!!

I work in IT and Telecoms and this is quite possibly the worst tech implementation I have ever seen, especially as it used to work fine on the S3. Stupid things like enter your PIN in your MMI...where???? you morons! 2 hours of my life wasted and got nowhere, thanks Audi.

Also according to myaudi the PIN code for my rs3 is the SAME pin code for my S3, that cant be correct!

I feel your pain! I have no LTE connection from the in-built sim. Off to the dealers on Tuesday for them to (hopefully) sort it out. How could they get this so wrong?!

I have LTE/4G, shows it at the bottom but cant connect to audi connect via THREE phones so assume the server is down and has been down all day (support is terrible, sorry non existent). Therefore, i cant access google maps, just normal maps and non of the audi connect services. However, i can access spotify and make calls on my phone as they use bluetooth. If i try and enter the PIN (what moron buried this is the menu system!) into the MMI then it just states the server is unavailable at this time. If i access the data inside site it just states my car doesn't have a sim and i need to pay...dur!

i know, on my S3 2014, insert sim, go onto my audi and register and get pin. go onto mmi enter pin. dead simple.

Now it seems you have to register yourself as the owner and authenticate the sim via the data inside server and clearly it seems their setup and support is woeful, something so critical should have backup/failover functionality. Maybe they switch the servers off at weekends to save money...lol.

Either that or its a data issue and some pleb hasnt entered my car details into a system. Still baffled as to why the pin for the s3 and rs3 are the same, doesnt seem correct at all.

I must say, as much as I want to make sure it’s working.. I don’t see the use in Audi Connect? I can’t be using it right. I’ve never, ever used it in 12,000 miles in the S3... still don’t really know what it does exactly.

I think it’s use is limited to be honest by today’s standards. I just want it for google maps. I’m surprised that you can’t use the app to lock/unlock and remote start the car. This tech isn’t new by any means and id have expected Audi to have that available on all new facelift models.

I agree..... poor by most standards!!!!

Parked up in central London yesterday afternoon.. Incredibly, there was an RS6 in front and an RSQ to my right!!
Never even seen one of those in the flesh... A Bentley just behind for good measure.

Some updated pics from a rally this past weekend.

To answer someone’s previous question. The wheels are 19x8.5 and I am running 8mm spacers up front and 10mm in the back. Tires are 235/35/19 Michelin P4S4. Car is lowered to 80mm all around on MSS Sport kit adjustable springs.

What are you doing with your wheels, anything, changing colour?
I'm thinking of changing my colour from the titanium rotor to maybe gloss black full wheel or harmonizing the titanium look to remove the shiny fins. Don't really like the titanium rotors and think the original audi black rotors look a bit 'after market'.
