Stay safe folks...

Wow, that is scary stuff. Glad you walked out of it. The passenger cage and crumple zones did their job. Had you reacted and been hit from a different angle it could have been different. Much less protection from the side. Very sad the other passenger didn't make it. It just shows you never know what is going to happen so appreciate life while you can.

He's still in a critical condition.

I went to see my car yesterday (to get some personal items), it sent chills down my spine...

Oh my god! That is unbelievable, but it shows just how well these cars are designed for the cabin to be 100% intact. It looks bad, but as others have mentioned the cars are designed to crumple in all the right places and that’s the reason you’re out and walking because the bodywork took the impact rather than your body. I can see a shatter in your windscreen.. looks like a head has hit it?

Well done for you going to see it, I know most people won’t and I don’t know if I could. When my Mrs’ wrote her Polo off I wanted to go see it, but she didn’t let me.

Do you plan on another Audi to replace it?

Im not sure what’s caused the shatter, certainly not from me though.

Absolutely, I’ll hopefully get an A4 (B9) Quattro. It’s just a waiting game with the insurance.

That’s strange, perhaps it was an impact from the bodywork.

That is a stunning car, I’m a right sucker for the interior in the B9.... it lights up like a Christmas tree at night, you won’t look back!

Well it’s official, my beautiful A3 S-Line saloon is an insurance write off :blownose:
Sorry to hear that mate, but as long as you get a decent settlement and it maybe a good thing that you can start afresh in a new motor too. Hope you're doing ok yourself

My gap insurance had already told me the market value for mine, the salvage company tried to low ball me a little bit but I refused to budge on the price so they just agreed with what I wanted (the valuation that the gap insurance had stated).

That figure covers the finance which is good, so at least I can go and get another car.

All I have to do now is put in a claim to the gap insurance.

I’m doing ok, just really, really sore.

Good thing with GAP, they won't take any messing about with valuations. The companies that agree the valuations will always go in low, the place I used to work at would go in at around 80% of what it was worth unless it had GAP then it'd be the full 100% or they'd be on the case.
