After some help/advice

My insurance this year was £1350

My renewal came through at 4k.

I cant seem to get my price for insursnce below 2k on comparison sites and the cheapest i can get is 1,520 through direct line.

Can anyone recommend a company to try although i do seem to have tried most.

Cad is 2011 audi a3 2.0 140 sline

Insurance has risen about 20% across the board this year. Different companies tailor to different niches so what works for one person would not for another. Guessing at your age from your username you could try CIS or Adrian Flux. But otherwise seems like you've covered off the usual suspects.

My insurance is due. I am with Admiral and I got a much cheaper quote with Direct Line as well. They must be doing a promotion.

I called Admiral to cancel and they matched Direct Line!! Why cant they give you the best quote to start with instead of hoping people just except the renewal quote??

That’s a shame but I guess it age related. I no longer bother with the mainstream providers; the comparison sites were quoting me £2.3k for my S3 and I’m double your age but with 15 yrs NCB.

I went with a specialist - A-Plan, based in Berkshire. Fully comp I’m paying £420 per annum.

I got told by Admiral that they wont price match.

Direct line wont budge in their price either

Understandable but you wouldn't think it would go up with an extra years no claim and extra year driving!

Ill try chris knotts as someone above suggests so fingers crossed

Premiums will increase every year - kind of makes a mockery of a NCB bit it’s the way it is. Try the specialist, let us know how you get on.

Hi, have you tried us for insurance yet? Audi-sport members can receive up to 15% discount when insuring through ourselves. If you wanted to drop me a PM I'd be happy to arrange a quotation for you.

Kind Regards
Dan

Even Adrian flux is increasing premiums, mine in dearer this year than it was last year AND the year before, with the car effectively worth much less plus 2 more claim free years

as a result, car is soon to be up for sale

to be replaced by what though, shank's pony?

buses and trains especially are an absolute rip.

direction of travel ( :p ) will be the same until capitalists, shareholders etc. have all the cash and no-one can afford their products, services, ever-increasing profit margins, bonuses, dividends etc.

ooh, went a bit off-topic there...

Greenlight insurance was recoemmended on this forum for modified cars - maybe worth a try.
They did me a great deal on an extensively non-std S3 but then I'm an old fart...

Yes... spent a bit of time weighing up my options, and it seems I don't actually need a car anymore. public transport would cost me considerably less

I have tried Dan and unfortunately he is about £700 out.

Cheapest one is brentacre and i have ran out of insurance companies to ring now for a price.

Working out at 340 deposit and 120 x 10 months.

Or 1389 outright

Yeah man insurance has always been a pain for me ive always had hot hatches or stupidly modified cars and being young the two didnt mix well, i think ive got lucky this year but maybe its abit of payback for all the money its cost me over the years haaa

Everything effects car insurance nowadays even your credit score plays a big role, the more times you get quotes the more it go's up too. When is it due for renewal? if you put in you need your insurance tomorrow theyll put 200-300 straight on top try to have at least a week between the date you get a quote and when you need to renew as itll look like you have time to shop around and theyre more likely to give you a better quote. Also i found putting my dad on reduced it by a couple hundred pounds

Cheers
