Quite simple, no grip and there’s no doubt the Ferrari was faster and Vettel is a better driver, well.......until the cool down lap, it’s never his fault is it!

You’ve got this all wrong, don’t you know how F1 works? It’s clearly Lewis RAMiltons fault!

Do you even know which race I’m referring to

It wasn't Vettels fault. Stroll decided to move over to the right pretty sharpish just as Vettel came past him. Stroll obviously had no idea Vettel was there. If you look at the video from the car following stroll you can see Vettel gave him plenty of room until Stroll decided to move to the right really quickly just as Vettel was level with him. Rookie mistake by Stroll.

DRS works both ways, If it made it that easy to overtake then cars would just retake the position on the next lap around.

I think you will find this video might clear things up, http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12...-sebastian-vettel-lance-stroll-crash-released

Very interesting But I think you can see why Stroll appears to move over in the other video because the corner is tightening at the point the collision occurs and therfore Strolls track position moves to the right. To maintain the same line on the track he needed to steer into the corner more. Still think the judges were right going 50/50 .

That footage came out after the decision.

Do you think Bottas should keep is seat at Mercedes next year, or who would you like to see take it?

Will Lewis win the championship this weekend?

Based on how they got on this year, I would expect Bottas to be there next year. Maybe Lewis will call it a day once he gets his 4th championship? He won’t have anything else to prove once that happens, and the doubters can eat mince pies! Lol

Always thought Lewis would go to Ferrari, but after Vettel signed a three-year deal, I can’t see Lewis waiting around for that drive.

Maybe it be more entertaining for us if Lewis did walk away?

I am sure I read somewhere that Bottas has signed for next year on a 12 month contract. Whilst Vettel is at Ferrari I don't think Hamilton will ever get in. Vettel would veto it.

what a joke f1 is becoming with the race stewards making it up as they go no way should max of had the 5sec pently

When he overtook I thought to myself he would be lucky to get away with that. If he had just managed to keep a part of his tyre on the track that would have been good enough. However he was clearly off the track. And I know other people ventured off the track, some several times but they never actually overtook anybody whilst off the track.
All they need to do is bury a wire 5-6 feet away from the edge of the track everywhere that you may possibly run off and gain an advantage. A sensor in the car will detect the signal from the wire when it gets close meaning the car is off the track. The driver will then only get 90% throttle for the next 10 seconds. They won't be wandering off the track in a hurry then. Mind you a Merc will still have 10% more power than a Honda even if it runs wide.

No other team would have had the decision changed as quickly as Ferrari did.
Makes no real difference manufacturer wise, Mercedes has won. Max will run rings round Ferrari next season.

So on reflection, for the fans, it was the wrong decision, but based on the rules, it was the right decision. But still the debate goes on regarding inconsistencies of going beyond the track limits.

I guess at the end of the day, the FIA was lenient during the race, but with a podium at stake, they was full on firm! Bad for the fans of the sport, but great for History when people look it up in the future, to see the Ferraris we’re still competitive when the Mercedes actually walked the championship.

Based on rules all the other drivers that left the track all weekend should have been punished theres nothing great about looking back on it just shows that f1 is all over the place and needs a big shake up.
I.e how the money is distributed between teams / rules should be clear with drivers before race.

Maybe they should sprinkle a few of these liberally in the run off areas. Run off and you will be paying a visit to the pits.

On thing I forgot to mention whilst typing the above.

It looked to me that Kimi had already conceded the podium 3rd place once Verstappen passed him in the race, he backed right off instead of continued chasing... he was lucky he was still within 5s! Did he deserve 3rd place for that? Not for me personally, and I do like Kimi as a driver. Sad to see an ex world champ playing 2nd driver to be honest.

Verstappen drive was much more entertaining than Raikkonen’s and also more deserving of third place.
There weren’t many cars that didn’t venture off the track. F1 bowing to mega bucks Ferrari and have made themselves look stupid in the process.
