Hello, today I joined the Audi family with the purchase of a new S-Tronic Vegas Yellow S3 Black Edition. I've gone for a 5 door, tech pack, parking system plus, black roof rails, red calipers.

I am looking at mods already, what are people's reviews on a resonator delete? Is this worth doing? What about a decat? I want the car to sound as good as possible so the first few mods I was looking at being exhaust related.

Next would be wheels, the car I have bought has the standard 18" black edition alloys, I like them but I think that they may suit the car better in black or should I just replace them if I do not want them?

Last mod I will be looking at will be performance, a remap and possible replace the air intake. Are there any suggestions for what I should do to my car.?

I'm excited to get driving it already. Big upgrade from my Golf GTD

Do a search on this site on resonator delete and exhaust systems. lots of info there on resonator deletion and after market exhausts also. As far as the resonator delete, I test drove a used S3 with it removed, prior to ordering my car and as long as you like drone at around 2,500- 3,500 rpm you might like it. I personally do not like drone.
Wheels are a very personal choice but you are kind of limited to 18" as you do not have mag ride and you might find 19" a touch on the hard side. I am not a fan of all black wheels unless they have a diamond cut finish, but again that is my personal opinion, it is what you like that matters.
Welcome to the forum. You have a bold colour and we need pics or it does not exist.

I'd like to welcome you to Team Vegas Yellow but can only do so upon photographic evidence. :whistle2:

Also... I have the factory resonator delete, and it does drone a bit in the 2,500 to 3,000 range. I need to have someone drive for me so I can listen from outside to see if it sounds obnoxious from the outside as it doesn't really bother me inside. Even with the delete, I wish the car had more sound to it- but I think I blame it on the motor itself at this point.

Great colour choice Chris! It's amazing how different the car looks in different light, i wasnt sure when I first ordered it but for me it makes the car.

Hello :)

I have just got back from my summer (autumn) holiday to Dubai to collect the shiny Vegas Yellow beast :D
So far i have only clocked up 120 miles mostly in efficiency mode running the car in. I love it so far and cant wait to rack up some more miles.

Due to me being a young yobo I have already ordered up a Milltek valvetronic catback exhaust non res, APR carbon intake and APR stage 1 remap which will all be installed after 1k miles. Oh and I went for the rounded black exhaust tips which should go nicely.

Another small touch that ive booked but yet to do is get a bit of detailing done and my keys wrapped in vegas yellow with a red s3 logo. Goodbye my help to buy isa savings :bye:

Who needs savings?! You can't take it with you to the grave. :D

She's a beauty.

Nice very nice, but you do know about warranty issues with all the engine mods your planning to install, food for thought

How do i go about joining team vegas yellow :tearsofjoy:

I am aware of warranty issues, I kinda guess that im willing to risk it. Does anyone have experience with Audi warranty when things have went wrong ?

As long as you are aware mate, anyway enjoy your new car it looks awesome love the black roof rails, they break up the bold Vegas yellow colour somewhat

A friend with a remapped RS3 just had to pay £5800 for a gearbox.

You are in for a world of trouble if anything happens to the drivetrain while it's remapped, Audi will void your warranty like it never existed.

Yeah i had the same kind of responses on the VW forums with my golf before i mapped it, 50% of people are happy to remap and know the consequences and the other 50% would rather not have the risk if anything did go wrong. I blame my dad as he has a 2017/67 BMW 335d that he has just remapped and modified and i guess its hereditary :tearsofjoy: too bad nothing he does will ever stop it sounding like a tractor

Cool looking car

Gearbox went on my S3 at 7000 miles in August and can confirm it's £6k to replace. Thankfully no mods so warranty covered it.

Why didn't you go RS3 if you don't mind me asking?

Couldn't really justify the monthly costs. My VW was contract hired and was only 2 years into the 4 year contract. Edinburgh Audi sorted out the £5401 that VWFS wanted for my early return in conjunction with a deposit contribution that was going on all S3 but not RS3. So in reality my S3 is £510pm over 48 months whereas the RS3 was coming in at £620pm and I would have had to put in a decent sized deposit. My budget was £550pm but max of £600 if there was a car with a great spec.

Nice car mate. Congratulations. Just a word of warning......worth blotting out reg number when posting pics.

Welcome to the forum :) Very unique car from the Pics so well done for going for something different. Id blur out Your reg as you are on a public forum and you dont want your plates to be cloned. However i doubt there are many yellow S3s out there doing dodgy stuff :D

Did you get your key done in the end?

Love the car, to be honest not sure how I feel about the vegas yellow but I think the general thought from the forum is they love it.

I've got a res delete, had it done at 15 miles, and I absolutely love it. The drone is there at 2.5k-3.5k but if you get over it or learn to drive around it you'll be fine. It crackles like mad on the downshifts even more so now I've done 2.5K miles in it. It seriously farts on the upshifts aswell bit of a head turner.

I had a driver at work drive past me and my right ear went a little bit deaf for a good 15 minutes.
I've made a strangers ears ring when I downshifted past him on a bridge, I bumped into him a month later and he told me.
And I've also made a girl scream when upshifting past her on a bridge.

- Theirs countless stories of negative feedback on the sound also such as people shouting at it, kids throwing eggs ect ect. But it's all good :)

If you get a milltek though be interesting to hear it

TLDR: If you're young and want noise and attention GET IT DONE. If you're a little more mature then don't. Post videos of your Milltek if you get it!

So far the only mods I have got fitted to the car are 19" RS6 wheels in gloss black, debadged and some VCDS changes. Annoyingly I am still waiting on £3500 of deposits to be returned to me from my car rental on holiday before I can purchase APR stage 1, APR carbon Intake, APR Turbo Muffler Delete and the Milltek catback system. Once these mods are done I am going down to Oxfordshire for christmas to see my family, the car is going to get booked into Dub Customs for the minor wrapping details to be done then :) Let me know what you think of the wheels.

Can't tell much from the picture, it's "stamp sized" :)

When you say 19" RS6 wheels, are they genuine Audi P/N's or some replica?

I am getting my S3 with the standard 18" rims and I am having my winter Pirelli Sottozero 3's fitted to them right away, and I am thinking of either getting a second hand OEM 19" set of rims or alternatively some decent replica's -i hear the Italian made ones aren't that bad- , fit them with Pilot Sport 4 and use them for the summer.

PS: Love the "IN YOUR FACE" color on the car :)

They are replicas I believe, my friends dad has the 20" version on his RS6 and it would be very difficult to tell looking at them both side by side. here is a bigger pic

oh wow! Can you please share with us a link of where you got them?

I was thinking more of your own issue more than anything :D

Gone and not nearly forgotten haha. My issue has been passed on to another dealer who now has the car for sale. It will be a long time before I get over the loss of the S3, I was devastated when it went.

That'll be gone in no time when you get the RS3.

I was sad to see my GTI go back and I love my cars the same way you do.

But when you get that upgrade in the loss just goes, always a piece of metal at the end of the day and I'm sure you drove it hard :)

My GTI was sold the same week, before it even made it to the website, can't imagine they will struggle shifting your S3

My Mum said I have a problem with attaching myself to cars. Although I’m not quite there with the guy who has intercourse with his car.
The car wasn’t really driven hard, I’d drive it fast but I’ve seen 1000 mile Audi demo’s with shafted tyres and the way my car was driven could never be compared to that.

The S3 has been up for sale for 2 weeks now and they dropped the price by £500. Good luck to the soul who takes on the troubled girl.
