Hi guys,

Just want to say a huge thanks to this forum and one member in particular "@Tristan2".

To cut a long story short. After phoning 4 or 5 different Audi dealers around the UK and getting told by all you cant get any discount on a FL RS3. So after this I settled on putting a deposit on one through newcastle Audi. After reading a post on here telling me to contact Scott Virgo @ Worcester Audi i instantly got a £2017 discount and instantly placed a order with them and claimed my deposit back from Newcastle Audi.

Means i can now put that £2k instantly to mods :tongueout:

Definitely recommend giving Scott a call if anyones in the same boat as me.

I would have thought Sport Pack would be a suitable destination for the saving.

yes mate its a good package they are doing but i test drove one with the sports exhaust and wasn't loud enough for me so want to get a aftermarket exhaust. Emailed Miltek last month and they reckoned they will have one out around end of October so thats plenty time for my car arriving in December.

Looks a good spec. Saw an Ara blue RS3 Sportback at Stirling Audi on Sunday, looked superb.

Have to ask, not many people seem to spec hill hold. I have it on the R and it’s superb, however, that’s a manual, so is it needed on a DSG?

well its either hillhold or parking break and it being auto i dont need a parking break. how did you know i had it lol i never mentioned that? anyway i think it comes as one of the packs so its not costing me anymore

IronZ seems to be the way to go - the secondary decat doesn't make much difference to me anyway. It's a bit early to make a value judgement on the aftermarket exhausts anyway tbh.

hill hold comes as part of the comfort sound pack. the reason i choose this is for the bang and olufsen, rear view camera and the advanced key.

Auto/hill hold is awesome and well worth the £90. Should be standard.

On an auto box?

Yes, you don’t have to hold your foot on the brake at lights... it’s a godsend! You never have to touch the handbrake, Auto release and re-engage 100% of the time.

I agree - not that many people retain the ability to perform a hill start in any kind of box but I would not give the steam off my p1ss for this option.

Ha ha fyi you only need to set up LC once and can use it anytime after that eg each ignition cycle!

I know it sounds like that, but being able to take your foot off the brake in traffic is really nice and something that once you've had is quite annoying to go back to a car without it. Also never have to touch the handbrake...automatically puts it on when you turn the engine off. Small things, but as I say, work very well and conveniently.

Ha ha I know you like it Doc we always discuss this when it pops up ;) without it you just press the handbrake button when stopped then take foot off the brake. I know what you mean though, cheap option at the end of the day.

My RS3 doesn't have it but my old Golf did. I remember when I got the Audi that I kept taking my foot off the brake and nearly creeping into cars. I've now got used to the old fashioned way of having to keep your foot on the brake!

Not 100% true, it’s just making the most of the convenience on offer. My girlfriend always tells me off for using the handbrake on every hill in her Corsa, she just moves from the brake to throttle as quick as she can to stop a roll back. Nothing is more satisfying than a well executed hand brake assisted hill start.

Those who knock Hill Hold Assist, haven’t used it properly in the real world.

I didn’t lol, I just noticed from your order that you hadn’t specced it, and most people don’t appear to. I have and think it’s a great add on, I just didn’t know how it worked with DSG given I’m coming from a manual

Well I didn’t get a discount and I don’t want to lose my place now... so full price.

Thats a good discount, wish I had known about that when I ordered mine.

Regarding hill hold, I didn't order it but assuming it can just be turned on via VCDS or OBD11 tool ?? It can only be a config change as the hardware is already there.

You need the button too.

Really, there is a button , I thought it would be automatic like in my 2015 Seat Leon and holds the brakes when on a hill.

Oh well, I am sure I will cope

i was feeling the same way but tried them just to see what delivery dates were, turns out im getting it a month earlier too haha but i do believe i got the last 2017 spot from Worcester. No harm in asking though.

Just been speaking to salesman again today and hes thrown in highbeam assist for free. Only £150 add on but every litte helps when your spending that much on a new car :car:

Noticed on Autotrader that there's some decent pre-reg/nearly new RS3's for sale. There's a 10 mile old black RS3 with Alu styling pack for approx £43k. Not bad if you can't wait, albeit it's low spec.

Hi just want to confirm on the button.
Can active it from vcds without a botton?

No you can’t because you need the button, otherwise you won’t be able to turn it on or off.
