I hope your's progresses at a more progressive rate than mine, which left the factory on the 30th of September and is still sat at Emden
No not yet mate. I had a look last night and the Weser Highway left Emden at about 10.30and is due at Grimsby tonight so yours might change again in the morningIs anyone else having problems with tracking their build? For the past couple of weeks whenever I log in all I get is the Audi symbols constantly refreshing. Prior to this it said I had a build date of 23rd October.
No not yet mate.
No a bloke, and not a very good ambassador for our species to be honest. Is it the attractive one?
Mine will be off to Grimsby. We must be near the front of the queue now mateIs your car going to port of Tyne? As my car also left Emden on the same day and still waiting for a boat.

You’ll deffo be collecting yours before me then!! While you’re there see if you can spot mine and see if it had badges on the rear! Lol.Mine will be off to Grimsby. We must be near the front of the queue now mate

Mine left the factory, then sat at Emden for over a month. My rep told me she had checked with Audi and they told her it was held up for over a month due to “additional quality control”. Now I’m assuming this would happen at the factory, not at the port?!Can’t believe yours arrived at emden before mine and mine has left before yours. It just doesn’t make sense how they do it.
I don't want to mention his name but he was a nice enough bloke on the test drive and he ran me some quotes off which were nowhere near where I wanted to be. I had already been on contracthireandleasing.com so knew where I needed to be moneywise. I asked if they were his best prices and he said yes they were. So I got a better deal from a big dealer group on the west coast. JCT600 man called me about a month after I had my test drive to ask if there was anything he could help me with, and was quite rude when I told him I had ordered elsewhere and saved £15 a week. So I was actually quite glad I hadn't given him a tick on his sheet. Then I think I know who you mean. If it’s who I think it is, I personally wouldn’t have bought a car from him. He dealt with me for about 10 minutes while the girl I had previously been dealing with was finishing up with another customer.
Despite me telling him that I had arranged a test drive in an A4 and I was interested in both the A4 Avant Black Edition but also wanted to look at the A5 Sportback as I needed a practical boot and the A5 ticked all the boxes too. He then asked what my criteria was, I informed him I needed a practical, large boot and front Isofix but I had already decided on the A4 Avant BE or potentially the A5 Sportback.
He then sat me down and said that he needed to ask me a question and that it wasn't designed to offend but designed so that he didn't show me a car and for me to respond with "WOAH, that's too much, I can't afford that" and then asked my what I hoping to buy and what I could afford to buy.
Despite his question not being “designed to offend”, I was incredibly pi88ed off. I don't know why he felt the need to ask the question, especially when I had already told him exactly what I wanted. If I had arrived in a tracksuit and baseball cap, scuffing my feet and kicking tyres I could perhaps see why.
He just immediately gave me the impression that he was either a massive bell end or he didn’t think I could afford an Audi. Maybe wearing jeans and a tshirt didn’t qualify me for an Audi in his eyes.
And I don’t normally bash people for their appearance, but this guy was hardly in the position to judge someone based on their appearance. If it was the same guy, you’ll know what I mean by that.
If it had additional quality control after it got to the port, that sounds like code for it had a bump in the compound or getting off the train. More like rep speak for it's just been held up. Or quite possibly your car was held back due to your 'required by' date being way off in the future, and prioritised more urgent orders getting on the boat sooner. The logistics is definitely more than advanced enough for that to happen.Mine left the factory, then sat at Emden for over a month. But who knows what the hell happens from date of order taken to the date of collection, but they seem to be all over the place.
Mine went into the panel shop on the Thursday, left the factory on the Sunday and got to Emden the following Saturday. Mine left the factory on the 30th of September and is still at Emden, but I don't think it will be long before it's in the UK. I think there is more variation that I would have expected after leaving the factory. I would have thought they would be timed to tight tolerances but this isn't the case at all.I think this is how it goes based on recent order data. Currently have an A4 in status 24.

Yeah who knows how the intricacies of it work. It's possible that they are loaded in relation to the dealer group they are going to, or area of the region they are destined for. Mine is going to a dealer at Crewe over on the West coast so will probably be nestled in with a load of vehicles headed towards Manchester/Lancs/North Wales/Merseyside etc. Now it's been at the port 2.5 weeks I am getting less impatient for now, as I know it will be here before I am ready. I need to get 2 alloys refurbed and spend a day valeting our current car before it's ready to be collected so I am putting that off until the last minute. I'm certainly not a detailing fetishistCan’t believe yours arrived at emden before mine and mine has left before yours. It just doesn’t make sense how they do it.

I was actually very surprised they agreed to match my quote. I scoured the net, including contracthireandleasing and eventually found the best deal on cars2buy. After the test drive the rep told me she would email me some numbers and I told her they had better be good ones as I already had a good price. She responded she was confident she could at least match the online price and for me to send her the quote I had been give.I don't want to mention his name but he was a nice enough bloke on the test drive and he ran me some quotes off which were nowhere near where I wanted to be. I'm a jeans and polo shirt sorta fella so I think he had me down as a serial test driver / timewaster. Wrong first time.
Thanks for the info mate. Hopefully yours will be on the next boat destined for the TyneCITY OF OSLO left Emden today for Grimsby, you may be on that one, it can take 24 hours for the tracker to update. For me nothing is going into the Tyne in the next 7 days.
'I'm cutting me own froat mate, I'm not making a penny onnest' yeah get the violins out for the rep. I'll drop in and give her a voucher for the wife's foodbank (I won't really).I was actually very surprised they agreed to match my quote. I walked away not really expecting her to get anywhere near, but the following day she emailed me telling me she could just (but only just) match it, but it meant her doing it with no profit. Which was fine with me.
Hahahaha. Well I did get that feeling. But I did get a very good deal so I’m not surprised if they didn’t make a great deal of money. But I’m happy so I’m not ***** if they did or not not.'I'm cutting me own froat mate, I'm not making a penny onnest' yeah get the violins out for the rep. All I know is that I spent a long time searching and this deal was end of quarter deal from online. And I’ve not seen a cheaper deal since. I understand Audi and the dealer made some money. They made lots of money alright. The good deal is vs rrp, that’s a very long way from cost.
True enough.Hahahaha. Well I did get that feeling. But I did get a very good deal so I’m not surprised if they didn’t make a great deal of money. But I’m happy so I’m not ***** if they did or not not.
I think it is most likely it was intentioanlly delayed.I hope it’s the latter.
Yeah cheers mate I better give Alphabet a ring and find out what happens if I give my beemer back 2 months early.Yay..... nearly there mate. Mine is in Grimsby now. Just messaged Audi now to ask them to get a transport note raised for me
Mine took about 6 weeks. But I had over a month being sat at Emden due to “additional quality control” so yours could be much quicker.Ordered mines in mid-June and just seen now its left Ingolstadt on Tuesday.
My dealer said there were delays on 2.0 TFSI's.
Anyone have any ideas roughly how long it usually takes from left Ingolstadt to the dealer?

Status change to 60 this morning. Car on its way to the dealer - can't come soon enough!
Mine left Ingoldstadt on the 30th of September and went to stage 39 'Left UK' this morning. The boat it's on docked today. It can take from a couple of days to about a week to get from the port to the dealer apparently. And then the dealer needs to PDI and register/tax etc so that's another variable. Probably about 4 weeks from today would be a fair guess but there are too many variables to be anything like sure.Ordered mines in mid-June and just seen now its left Ingolstadt on Tuesday.

Glad to hear Audi treated you well. I'm not a fan of dealerships generally and try to do all my car dealings at a distance. But I wanted a drive in an Audi so broke my golden rule and went to a dealership. The car was fine but I wasn't impressed with the rest of itI hate all that ****, and had some of it at a different manufacturer's dealership before I settled on the Audi. I work in Construction and can be in a suit all smart one day (not any of the days I went to Audi of course!) and other days (like my car shopping ones) rolling in with mud spots on my trousers and an old waterproof jacket on... The Audi guys were completely businesslike and welcoming from the go.
Mine only took 2 days from landing in the uk to being at the dealers and only 3 days for it to be registered and have number plates on. I was surprised at how quick that went.Mine left Ingoldstadt on the 30th of September and went to stage 39 'Left UK' this morning. The boat it's on docked today. Car has arrived at Emdem. . From everyone else’s experience it’s now the long wait to get on a boat.
I'm the same this morning, which port will yours be going to?
I'm going to be checking for the ships heading to Sheerness daily.
Mine arrived at the port overnight too. Should be going to Grimsby I think as the dealer is in Leeds.Car has arrived at Emdem. . From everyone else’s experience it’s now the long wait to get on a boat.
