hi guys, i bought an ami unit, wiring loom and fitted them today then using my vcds i coded my radio 56 changing byte 11 to suit the ami and also clicked the media 3 box in can gateway as i was told.
i then checked it all and ami spot on radio spot on then went to make a phone call, shows up on display but no speaker so i cant hear anybody speaking??
ive changed the coding back and still the same.
can anyone advise me of any advice, i really dont want to take the glovebox out again and take the loom out to see if thats the problem.
as i say everything else works and connects to phone via bluetooth and operates, cuts radio off but no loud speaker on calls?

Did you fit a tune2air?

No pal just the ami unit with the Audi wiring loom, its the phone on Bluetooth, when I go to make a call it cuts radio out like it should shows caller on display but no sound?

Subject to which head unit is fitted, but did it have a quadlock adapter, if so I wonder if they left out the wires for the bt, so its not got wires in the adapter where it should have, remove wiring, retest, then it will prove the issue.

I’m going to put coding back to what I can remember lol and take the loom out again and see if it comes back then code it without loom try it and then if its working plug loom back in and see if its possibly that?
Does vcds remember old radio settings by any chance?

Just remove the head unit loom end, leave coding as is for now, that should be enough to prove the issue.

Did it gave a quadlock adapter for the head unit Ami connection?

What’s a quad lock adapter pal?
It had a plug hat replaces the one in the radio then you plug the original radio plug in the other piece of the new loom and the cable that runs off to glovebox for ami?

That's the adapter I'm referring too, just return the original quadlock plug into the head unit so Ami is disconnected & test BT.

all sorted, very embarrasing but as i stripped it down and checked the connection pins one was bent, i straightened it up and retried it all and its bang on everything working a treat.
thanks for replying back pal, want to get one of those bluetooth wireless ami plugs now to try?
