Riko's B9 S4 Avant

What I meant is that I have the rings lights on the front doors but nothing on the rears... Surely it should be on both?

Yeah I know what you mean but I heard that our cars were coming from the factory with no projector lights and the dealers were left to swap, I guess they're only swapping the fronts but not sure if the brochure states front and rear then you could go back and insist they swap the rears aswell as that's what's advertised.

No, no. I mean I don’t have ANY puddle lights on the rear doors!

Oh...hahaha, now I get you!

Well that is weird???

Did you get down and look underneath, is there no hole or 'blanks' fitted?

Cancel. I was being stupid and it wasn’t dark enough to tell when I checked, but they are there. Doh! Had to actually look up under the door though...

It had made me realise that they’re significantly dimmer than the Audi beams though!

Yeah the standards are very dull!

Just looked at the 'build my Audi' and it states - Audi Beam - exterior puddle lighting with Audi rings logo.

The brochure states -
Audi Beam – uses LEDs to project the Audi logo onto the ground as you exit your S4

Doesn't say anything about front and back specifically though.

I know you can buy cheaper aftermarket projector lights but heard some issues with overheating and melting!! I decided to spend stupid money and bought OEM with the 2 sets for my S3 but at least I knew the quality.

Yeah, I’d heard that too... They certainly look better though, that’s for sure! Not sure if I’d mix or keep them the same if I put some in the back though...

Yeah definitely nice to have front and rear.

I like the different logo's personally but know what you mean if you're OCD alarm is going off with not matching! Lol

Yeah, I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to try it and mess with my OCD!

Cheers @Gary_LB, I've used him before and he's brilliant and doesn't charge the earth!

Haha, I have to pinch myself sometimes, feel very lucky to be able to own such a lovely car as the S4.

How's yours doing, have you run her in yet?

Yes same here however I’m sure we all work hard enough so good to have a ni e car to enjoy

I’m loving mine although not run her in yet unfortunately. Week 1 was good racking up 400 miles however last week du to a mix of working from home and London I did a total of 30! Next week should be better as although I’m away with work for a few days I have some longer trips at the back end of the week so should be another 200-300 miles toward the magic 1200

I'm much the same as you mate, working from home and in London with some clients dotted a bit further.

Annual mileage 20k+ so I guess the V6 petrol engine not the best choice but I'm going to enjoy every mile : )

Picked up yesterday evening following enhancement detail, ceramic coating to exterior and wheels and inside protection.

Car looked stunning and my crappy iPhone pics don't do it justice.

Looking forward to its first wash to see how the ceramic performs.

Also fitted some new pressed metal plates recently to.

A few pics but hoping to post more of my detailers pictures once he's loaded up to his Facebook page....

Ordered some Carpro Reset shampoo to help protect the coating on washes and also some Gyeon Q2M Cure spray to help with the protection as recommended by my detailer, never used before but sounded good.

Gutted, noticed this morning a nasty stone chip which has caused a minor dent to the bonnet!

Chips I can deal with and expect I’ll get more over time but the dent I wasn’t happy with!

Have a dent guy coming out tomorrow to sort out hopefully and then I’ll get the touch up kit out.

Was only thinking the other day that I’ve been lucky with the lack of stone chips and the paint was holding up well....could be worse I suppose.

Car looks great, shame about your dent and really must have been a bad stone!

Signed up the other day as collecting a silver with Magma interior S4 saloon on Monday and can't wait.

Thanks @SwordfishCoupe the dent will get sorted I’m sure.

Congrats on a great choice of car, I’m loving the S4, the magma seats really do look lovely.

What car are you coming from?

Last two cars have been Jaguar, XF SV8 (4.2 supercharged) and for the last 3.5 years an XJ 3.0D portfolio. Prior to that 5.7l Monaro.

Was only having a look at Audi as a quick glance and saw the S4 and thought looked good. Test drove one and wanted to buy one. Found my perfect one in Birmingham and get it Monday.

How you doing?
What made you come away from the XJ?

Hi No_Idea,
Small world, I am fine. I knew I was going to change the XJ about June but thought I would visit the Audi dealer and BMW one, never made it to the later. One of my weekend jobs is take my metal flappy paddles off. You will have to make some Audi ones.

Put a deposit on a nice Navarra blue with black interior and was told it had some options. Turns out it did not so looked for alternatives and found the Birmingham one. Did the deal on Saturday. Should be a nice change inn performance and much smaller car, although will miss some toys.

I don’t know much about the Jags but hopefully you’ve got the VC in the S4 which is great and I imagine the overall tech will be better.

What toys were on the XJ and not on the S4?

No blind spot monitoring on my new S4, XJ has wireless headphones and dual view screen for passengers to watch dvds etc. No cooled seats front and back and not heated on the rear seats. Unless mistaken S4 does not have dimming external mirrors. Will miss touch screen as well. My S4 does not have the sunroof either but not bothered. Oh yes, heated windscreen, wish more companies would pay ford to use them.

But will live without them for the better displays, nice sounding engine and much quicker car. S4 also cheaper insurance. Roll on Monday!
