Hi mate i am sorry about your car, where in the country are you.

Bummer Slicko, was it from your house?
Scum, this country really needs to review the sentencing when these fuds are caught.

Gutted for you mate.
Glad you've got pics of the scumbag and hope he gets picked up soon.

Yes from house, car was for sale

Sorry to hear that, brilliant image so I hope he's found. Clearly not as smart as I'm sure he thinks he looks. I won't try to make you feel better with nice words, as I'm pretty sure nothing short of those responsible for the theft having their parts crushed in a vice will really help. Proper crap that!

This was the car they came in...

Also the plate number does not match the car. SG06SHA

Did they break into it or nick the keys, if you don't mind me asking mate?
Brass neck in daylight with people about I assume too.

Will keep my eyes peeled for the car.

How did this go about, grabbed the keys and drove off or?

Make you get it listed as well on stolen cars West Midlands Facebook page...

Epidemic sadly in Birmingham at the moment with car thefts. Hall Green/Mosley has been hit massively with car jackings as well.

As above, I understand he was pretending to be interested. But how did he manage to get away with the car?

The plate on the insignia is registered to a white A4 Cab

It would be helpful to other members of this forum if we knew the MO used for this theft.

Potential buyer come to view car
I drove car a road away and back home onto driveway
He grabbed keys of me and got back into car, locked doors and drove away

I got in front of the car and he said some stuff like I’d kill you with an angry face and tried to run me over. Luckily I jumped out of the way in time.

The guy is an Asian male - dark skin, bold headed clean shaven with a small goatee beard on the chin. Also has a black beauty spot sticking out a little on left ear lobe (size of half a 5p coin)

Can't have been nice at all, guess the only good things from this are that you're ok and you've got some great quality images of both the man involved and the car.

So, if you are selling a car privately, and someone comes to view it and arrives in a car, do a quick check using the following link to see if the registration number corresponds with the car they are driving:

Insignia is probably stolen and on false plates to be fair. Seems weird that they would take an S-Line.... Normally it is the S3's that get taken.

Sorry to hear about it though and good luck finding the car and prosecuting the scum that stole it!

Perhaps stolen to order, this happens when parts are needed to repair another ligit car.

Have the police circulated his details / picture on social media or anywhere else?

gutted for you mate, hope your insurance pays out

I hope so too, but I’m sure the insurance company will try and wriggle out of it. When I worked at Metro Camel the area your near gave use problems then

It was a robbery, so they should pay out - however, had you been tricked into giving him your keys they would probably refuse a claim.

wow sorry to hear this, that's the problem with a private sale, you don't know who turns up at the door! I recently reported someone that seemed a bit dodgy after they contacted me about my car, needles to say they got no details out of me!
