lol, no that's mine, which is the same as your hybrid.

Doh :help: Only 4.5 hours sleep today. Fortunately It's my last night tonight.

Hello, my car had a dpf delete and map about a year ago, and ive just knocked the cat out, do i have to remap again as it smells awful like a rich smell, is this part of running cat less? Car runs with minimal smoke etc

Part and parcel of no aftertreatments , probably no amendment remap as no cat only aids flow and any adjustment is within the remaps control .

For stock turbo you could have left the CAT in - DPF is the bottle neck not the cat.
Couldn't need a map but worth logging boost

My car stinks too. *shrug

Bobby, what braided lines do you use? Have you got a link? Thinking I might as well change the stock rubber ones while I'm at it.

Hi bobby
I live in Slough and have a audi b7avant 3.0tdi quattro
My question is when performing a swirl flap delete do you have to disengage the flap motors?
I have had it done this year but every so often my exhaust note changes and it was traced to a swirl flap motor error but I was under the impression that the delete would have disengaged them?

Hi - I'm only down the road from you.
Normally when i remove the motors or leave them disconnected when I do a swirl flap delete.
Exhaust note sounds like limp mode with vanes opening.
Cheers

Thank you for help I seen u selling hybrids?? Will they flow to 420bhp without meth?? Coz mine is out of air by 393 bhp

I never use meth only air and diesel for road use.
What spec turbo you have and which engine?
I recently made approx 410hp 880nm with amg tw
65/50cw

Soon I'll make some fuel pump mod to make abit more.

Thx tbh don't know the spec of my turbo but I don't have Amg turbine for sure... how much u looking for turbo ??

I'll send you a pm
But based on the results i seen with the amg wheel and 65mm cw I would say it's excellent value for money.

what are the pros and cons of swirl flap delete as i have just had a error pop up for one of the banks, already had one bank replaced by audi about 20k ago

Just delete them and problem solved forever

The more I'm reading about swirl flaps deletes the more I'm convinced to keep them, loss of torque on low revs and worse fuel economy seems to be the norm rather then the exception. But then again the previous owner had Audi replace the lot so I'm not expecting issues for another 80k at least. If you don't want to spend the money to replace motors and flaps (it's not that much on an exchange basis) then getting rid of them is cheaper.

Now if this was a BMW, I'd say get them out there ASAP as they like to fail and then destroy engines haha.

To be honest I've removed mine and never looked back - its just a matter of time before they go wrong.
I've deleted a few now and bushes in the lower manifolds are often worn through so the shaft never runs true causing the errors.

Hi Bobby,

I currently have "throttle actuator control bank" fault code and I'm thinking its related to the inlet manifold flaps so im considering a delete but i have 2 questions if you dont mind mate.
how much should i be looking at paying a garage to do this?

also will this fault cause acceleration issues? as currently when i accelerate hard the revs go up but then keep dropping slightly then back up then drop again slightly and so on.

thanks mate

Hi - I normally charge around 160 including the software side, so I would say around that figure is ok.
Depends how bad the flaps are I guess but normally just have a error code due to the extra load of the flaps not running true.

HTH
Cheers

Is the throttle actuator not the thing before the flaps? just before the manifold and egr port?

hello bobby did a great job and perfection. very soon I'm going to UK to make you a visit to see if we can get my engine right over the 400hp

Take it from the 245hp engine. It'll will do 2.2k

Bobby, this sensor is coming from bosch right?

I send an email to the customer service for technical datas but they send that for me:

“I’m sorry, all numbers which I saw are no Bosch part numbers.

I onla swa the VW part number. With this we cannot identify the part.

We need the Bosch part number to identify the real part”

Why don't you just left the hood on a 245hp engine and take a look?
I don't know bosch parts numbers top of my head I also have search.

I bought the sensor from a CGQB engine but i need technical datas for the linearisation, mVolt / bar.

The OE number is OK, 2000bar.

Bobby: whilst I have a tuned S5, so am not directly affected, I absolutely love this thread and check in every time there is a new post. Keep up the good work of pushing these engines as far as they will go....

It's yellow Bobby I couldn't possibly put that under the bonnet of my car. The standard compressor wheel looks lost in that huge turbo.

Quick question with regard to upgrading from a 3 bar to a 4 bar MAP sensor.

Does this require a remap or just plug and play?

My car has already been remapped on the standard 3 bar MAP sensor. IF I change the 4 bar map sensor, will i have to get it mapped again or will it work with the existing tune?

You will have to get the car remapped as the sensor calibration needs remapping.Typically with a boost sensor 0 bar is 0.5V output and the max reading is 4.5V , So essentially a 4v range .
On a 3 bar sensor that's 1.33v per bar and on a 4 bar sensor 1V per bar of boost.
On your standard map at 1 bar of boost which is 2 bar measured on the sensor output voltage is 2.66 +0.5 = 3.16v
If you fitted a 4 bar sensor it would only read 0.5 + 2 = 2.5v output.
The boost pressure would need to be 1.66 bar in the engine to make 3.16v output on a 4 bar sensor.
So Basically your turbo would be seriously overboosting all the time to try and make the boost targets. Probably go into limp mode and if not won't last very long.
