Hey,

Anyone have any experience with stick-on numberplates on the bumper and experience with the police about it?
Looking for the blank grill look as I'm going to be getting an RS3 grill for my car.

Thanks

“Killaplates”

Have a research online, they are a new craze to the car scene and will stick to any surface on your car with no residue. Can be removed and re-applied as many times as you wish.

Was looking for something more permanent. :/

I was looking to put one on one of the sides of the bumper under the lights, so magnetic ones wouldn't work.
Ah okay, I've seen some people disable one side of the headlight washer and fix it on top of that as a permanent location

I like the look of the clean grill with only the Audi rings on. that is the only other place that the Reg can reasonably go to still be kind of legal

Valid answer.

I assumed it was because the local chavs in their sh!tty 15 year old Corsa's would have approved on car meets at the local Burger King car park:busted cop:

I take it all back:respekt:

A friend with an RS3 drives without a plate and never gets pulled. He put a tiny plate on the front like you see on superbikes and got loads of attention for it.

He’s taken the plate off altogether and never gets pulled. When he has been pulled, he’s even had police say it looks better without it!!! He drives from South Wales to London and around London in it, without a front plate :O

He got pulled last week for driving a bit silly, no mention of plate.. how he gets away with it I don’t know.

I have already bought my legal shortened plate for the RS3, but I can see me over time testing the removal of if. But knowing my luck, I will get pulled the same day it comes off and will have to take the £100 fine on the chin.

On the website it says that they peel off. How would I make them permanent

You don’t have to peel them off, it’s optional. They are there for ease for shows and alike, peel off when you are parked up and stick on when you drive on. They don’t have to be removed once they are on.

Sorry...am I missing something?

Why would you 'peel them off' when you are parked up and 'stick on when you drive on.'

I could perhaps agree to being on the side of old but whats this about??
They are there to indentiry the car.

At a car show?

Good answer. How many car shows can you go to, to make this viable.

I worry about the police these days, for even the slightest infringement.

Saw them on instagram, @staticplates do them for about £28 for one. I wouldn't fancy forking that out every time someone peels them off

I’m talking of the younger generation that like to drive without number plates ;)

But if they are that sneaky to peel off what's stopping someone from just nicking it.

Nothing, but number plate thieves are few and far between.

This is what people use if they want to take their plates off frequently. Obviously it isn’t for you so just search on eBay for sticky number plate and order one with the correct reflective backing, sorted.
