Hi All,

My Construction has been brought forward to November 6th, which has made me curious to know if that my estimated delivery date of 18th December would be realistic? Can anyone inform me of how long they waited from Construction to Delivery, I understand that everyone's situation may be different.

Thanks

Depend on the spec, and their supply. I've waited almost 3 months from the start of the construction to delivery. I think this could be the worst case scenario, others usually say between a month and two.

Mine goes into production on the 25th Sept, they say I'll have it by the end of October!!!

My construction date has jumped back a week, assuming this is quite common for the date to move around quite regularly?

I had this email today:

"The build week is next week! I will contact you at the end of the week to let you know the car is built and whether or not it has left the factory. If not, I can let you know when it is scheduled to leave."

I will still be surprised if it's here before November.

lol the most thing I'm excited about is when it's due to be collected, it will be dark morning and dark evenings!!! I've gone for the extended LED light pack and can't wait to mess around with them :D

Ahh yes, I have the light and vision pack on mine, my other half is always sat forward watching eagerly at the road as my lights on my current car (Fiesta ST) are not very efficient unless on full beam which I can't keep on all of the time. So also very much looking forward to using them during dark country drives.

Nooo I mean the interior lights, you can change them to any colour you want :)

I see! I think again my other half will be controlling this to turn the car Pink or Purple...

Sadly not any colour you want, just various shades of Red, Blue and white. I tend to keep mine on Red with orange footwells, the Blue is a bit too Treason May for me!

I'm sure that there's a wheel in the settings in the S5 anyway, with a lot more choice than what you've mentioned?

Er.. sorry but not as far as I could see. I have a 66 A4 Boring Avant with light and Vision and had an S5 for a few days. As far as I can see the inside LED colours range from Corbyn Red to May Blue with white as well and the only colours are variations of these. Please let me know if I'm wrong but not really looking for Green or UKIP purple. red is fine and suits the rest of the car.

1:39 Is this what you had in the car you had in the S5?

I understand that this is an A4, but they are practically the same in terms of interior and power train.

The Background lighting is as I referred to above, however the full rainbow spectrum is available for surface lighting.. will post picture when I can.

I do find it funny that they are using a Quality Control Image for that stage?

Cool none the less, Where's the first place your're going to be driving yours, if anywhere interesting?
Well, after I collected the S3 I went with the wife for a few days around the lake district :) I couldn't wait to bed that in so that I could give it a blast! (The car not the wife :p)

With the A5, as I'm due to collect the car I have been told that we are getting laid off for 3 weeks (with pay), so who knows where I'll end up! I can't make any plans as of yet, as things could change days before I'm due to be off...that's the only downside :( Coming from a manual 300bhp car down to 190bhp s-tronic, I'm getting my head around a different driving style. The A5 will be more of a relaxed, comfy, lazy cruiser :) I love the S3, but sometimes I get fed up of feeling every single bump in the road. The A5 still books 0-60 in 7 seconds, which is quicker than the old Astra GTE 16V & the 205 GTi 1.9! So hopefully it won't feel too slow! Showing my age there lol, back in the day those cars were classed as race cars :)

(Car is now in paint shop).

There's a coincidence! I am taking my girlfriend up to the Lake District in December. I was supposed to be taking the S5, but I'm doubtful that it will arrive in time. Audi are lending me a vehicle from December 1st as my current vehicle is going back then. I have asked for something a little more fun than a A3 courtesy car, but again, doubtful.

I have become a little fed up with my Fiesta ST shaking me to death as it's quite a hard ride, also I changed jobs so rather than driving through country lanes (which it was fantastic for) I'm now sat in Motorway and City traffic, so my left leg is constantly working the clutch. (First world problems, I'm aware)

If your A5 ever feels a little sluggish, I'm sure you could fit some sort of Tuning device to sharpen it up a little.

Ask for their A8 demo, there are plenty of them around.

Now that would be an excellent demo to use! Unsure if my age would not allow me to use a car over a certain cc, I wasn't even allowed to test drive the S5. Had a go in a friends.. on a private road of course. :whistle2:

I have asked for a Q5, Q7 and stated that my girlfriend is in the market for an SUV. Fingers crossed, salesman told me to bug him in November to see what demos they have available.

I seem to have the opposite problem to everyone on here! Just had the email from Audi saying the build date for my S5 is 6th Nov. And I don’t want it until March 1st when my BMW 435 goes back!

Has anyone on here ordered the magma red seats and can confirm that via the myaudi site they’re not listed. I’ve checked the spec and everything is on there except the colour of the seats - which it doesn’t refer to at all (just says Fine Nappa Leather). Spoke to the dealer (who incidentally I totally recommend (Jamie @ Bolton Audi) and is being very understanding with my constant emails) and he’s reassured me that it’s r/b/b/b (seats red; dash/ headlining/carpet black) which is what I want.

Many thanks. Mind now totally at ease. Virtually the bottom line of the page after page of script is exterior colour code 0E ( mythos black) interior colour code AU (magma red).

Now my only problem is how to spend the next 5 months waiting!

I'm just watching my Contstruction Start Date move around constantly!

Thanks, I tried that and I'm sure things are now standard that weren't before!

Also it's a good job I ordered the A5 when I did!!!...The only petrol s-line s-tronic you can have now is the quattro version, if you want a petrol non quattro you have to have manual transmission.

What changes have you found in terms of configurable options becoming standard?

Heated seats, sure they were an option. I didn' go for them as I have full leather now and never use the heated seats, so thought with being cloth even less chance!

Also noticed something called 'High-gloss package' no idea what that is but I never ordered it. What I did order but it didn't change the price was hill hold, when I asked her why the price didn't change she just said "I gave you some more discount", which I thought was odd! Maybe it will be standard in the future!

Also noticed pre sense city was included, didn't even see that on the order list so may have already been there!

I can agree on the heated seats some what, the passenger side is used more often than my side however. High Gloss will be interior trim parts wouldn't it ?

I do believe there's a strong mutual feeling that the hill hold should be standard, I personally don't mind either.

I gave up with trying to decipher all the script that downloaded. Logging on to the MyAudi site and just looking at my spec on the website everything I had specced was there.

I just used the script thing to find out the colour of the interior as that wasn’t listed on MyAudi - it just said ‘Fine Nappa’. Which was right at the bottom. Basically they list virtually all the possible spec and then lines are followed by ‘standard’ and/or false. It probably means something to the computer in charge of the construction line.

Exciting times! Do you have a rough idea on time scale from start of build to you actually driving it.

I've just sent them an email asking "If all goes to plan how long do you think it will be before the A5 is ready to collect?".

But to be honest it has been quick up to now, I ordered on the 26th August, the build date was quoted as starting on the 25th September, but it was in the body shop on the 21st and paint shop on the 22nd September.

The first email off Audi today made me smile, they still thought that they were getting my S3 at a silly price! when in fact a local sports car company are having it for £1k more :) I just replied to Audi to say "I've got the car advertised, so it's not 100% you are having it yet!" :) They can't moan at that, because from day one I said "Keep both deals seperate, so I know exactly what I'm getting knocked off the new one and how much I'm getting for the old one". If they have decided to try and blag me on that, then it's their fault :) I'm still getting the 21.4% off the A5 ;)

****** hell - 21% off is one hell of a deal. I thought I’d done well to get 15% off my S5. Unlike you though I’ve got a car that I’m waiting to get rid of by VTing before I can take delivery of my Audi.

Construction Date now confirmed for 16th October!

I think my VT was at around 42 months...so not worth me waiting, as I broke even now! It would have cost me more to keep it than to put another deposit down and start again! (4x tyres, MOT, service etc.).

lol I know, the discount is very good :sly:
