Hi all,

Just crossing over from the 8P section after having been a member of this site for just over 3 years. Currently own a 2010 A3 Sportback Sport TDI 140 and tomorrow at 09.30 collecting my new Sportback Sport tfsi

Glacier white
Privacy glass
Folding mirrors
Everything else that comes with the Sport trim.

I've taken a punt and gone with the 1.0 tfsi having read many rave reviews on it. My missus has got an A1 with the same engine (although Audi have upped the power for the A3) and it is a superb engine with decent speed.

So yeah, hi.

Ha, I’m afraid it’s no more exciting than that, I was born in 1969.

Jesus, I don’t feel that old:wtf:

I've spent a couple of years in 8P section and I am here now after switching to 8V (a bit over 2 months now) and I can vouch these guys are as friendly as 8P bunch (if not more!).

Welcome and we really expect the pics! :D

So, i picked it up and its now safely on my drive. I have to say, all my reservations about it being a 1.0 are gone completely.

I knew that the 1.0 was a very capable engine, but that was based on the A1 that the missus has. Audi upped the power of the 1.0 Tfsi for the A3 to compensate for the extra weight. In the A3 it is superb, quiet, refined and when you want it to go it pulls very very nicely indeed. Once the engine has loosened up a bit I'm expecting it to be even better. Don't get me wrong, i realise that it won't win any prizes for land speed records BUT just basing it on the 2.0 TDI that I've just traded in and my old Skoda Fabia vRS before that it has more than acceptable performance......for me anyway. I love it.

As for the car itself, much much nicer than the 8P imho, more comfortable, better driving position and the handling is a world away from the somewhat wallowy, awkward handling of the previous version.

The handover was nice, the standard dramatic uncovering of the car, and i got a litre of oil, a couple of key rings and the MMI lead needed for my iPhone. All in all a very nice day, and there was me expecting it to rain (because it has done most of this month).

Oh, and love love glacier white with the factory tints, beautiful in the sunshine.

Very nice!
The second pic makes it look like it's got grey US style racing lines up over the bonnet and roof.

Not bad but I'm sure Audi could have done better :friendly wink:

Thanks all:respekt:

Lovely car mate! Don't forget that it also understeers a lot less compared to 8P. :D

Thanks Rideen.

And yeah, it certainly doesn’t understeer anything like the 8P does.

For me the overall handling between the two is like night and day, it just feels like a completely different car.

Very nice! The Glacier White is lovely especially after a good clean on a sunny day. Also looks good at night with the reflections of lights shining off of it :)

Thsnks mate, and yes it looks great when the sun hits it.
