Anyone also am finding it impossible to find a bex turbo are they rare

When I looked into this a few months back I found 1 on eBay and that's it - hard to find yes.

Most likely brand new or could you not have your existing turbo modified to the BEX spec turbo?

Maybe was looking at eBay turbo earlier lol made out of chocolate can't believe people run these

Also looking at intercoolers been told it's a pain trying to make it fit behind the bumper anyone got any advice cheers

Also how much would it cost to get a bex turbo refurbished and any good company's out there I live in the surrey area cheers

Am also after a n75 valve which one will be the best for a apu engine thanks

Standard N75 valve is fine.

The saab injectors are ok, slightly larger than the LET yellows.

Theres a few guides floating around for intercoolers. Look out my "subwellycooler" thread.

I would imagine a turbo refurb would cost around £300, maybe slightly more.

OK cool cheers will look into it Really need more power lol

BFB engine uses the same turbo as BEX, the BEX engined car has larger injectors and an extra intercooler it also runs more boost but the turbo is exactly the same. Exhaust manifold is larger as stated.

OK cool just had a look and there are a lot more so I could use a bfb turbo with a bex manifold

Yes, same three bolt fixing pattern, BEX manifold is physically larger so I’d expect it to flow a little better.

OK thanks mate will go with that I think just need to find some injectors now thanks for your advice you know a lot

No problem, I have some TT 180hp injectors if they are any use, I can get the part number off them and you can investigate?

Ok cool hopefully I straight toward changing injectors manifold a turbo never changed a turbo before

Do the three turbo bolts when the engine is still warm, go slowly, any resistance, tighten it again then slacken again, use plus gas. The bolts are bad for breaking in the turbo exhaust housing.

Ok cool once I have done all of that remap and hopefully get me about 230bhp?

Remove exhaust manifold and you can do all from the top except oil drain to sump pipe and coolant water pipe.

That's not good thanks for the part number currently looking at some red Saab injectors too

That’s just a spare anyway, just letting you know to avoid the hassle.

Ok cool thanks I am assuming once all fitted I will need a remap to get it running properly

It will run but to get the most from it you’ll have to remap. It would probably throw a code for overfuelling with the larger injectors.

Just purchased a bex exhaust manifold which is a start just need to look out for the other bits now

Sorry guys, the BFB turbo is NOT the same as the BEX unit.

The BFB uses a K03-029. BEX uses K03-073.

-029 is what he has on the car already. The BEX turbo has a larger compressor wheel, and its only fitted to the BEX 190ps engine.

That lists four engine codes for same part number ending in “j” which the BFB has, am I missing something?
If spending up to £750 on a turbo there are far better ones to buy.
The Mamba turbo looks good and is essentially an upgraded K04, it looks very well made too.
It would be folly to spend that much on a K03-29 or 73 or whatever it is. Even a K04-15 would be a better proposal.
