I'm looking at buying better brake pads for the standard brake calipers, has anyone got any experience of either Ferodo DS2500 or Tarox Strada brake pads? Reason being for occasional track use, would have went with a BBK but funds won't allow that in the small time frame I have. Thanks in advance

This is a great question. I took mine on track on Saturday at ADI and finished off my pads. I'm trying to decide what to get next!! I'd love a big brake kit but at £3k I think they're a bit too expensive as I only do 2 or 3 track days per year.

Any suggestions?

I've been advised to buy either Tarox Strada or Ferodo DS2500. I had experience of the Tarox pad in my old Fiesta ST and they work really well. Having only been passenger in a car running Ferodo's I can't really comment on them

Another option is to upgrade to the OEM Clubsport S. ...Discs and pads for a tickle over £420. or swap out the OEM pads for above options with added benefit of drilled discs. Still able to run stock 18' wheels as well should that be required, which most big brake kits wont allow. Look good too! Its a popular option which the Golf R boys like and our @RedS3Reilly has aswell.

That's using the oem calipers on our cars?

I have been speaking to @RedS3Reilly about this setup today... I think I am swaying this way for now.

Definitely looking like the better way to go, could probably stretch to a big brake kit, only problem being I'd have to sacrifice track wheels and semi slicks
