I've had a few letters regarding EA 189
NOx, but I'm not too sure what it is and if I should get it done or do I have to get it done by law? I've heard a few people saying to ignore it and not get it done?

NOx is a generic term for the nitrogen oxides

But yeah as nluk said I won't let them anywhere near mine for that recall - literally does nothing to change the emissions output (as tested byt the same peeps that found the issue to begin with) and much greater chance of something going bang....

+ it isn't a requirement to have it done

Is there any way to have it removed after it’s been done? The previous owner had it done to mine.

I’ve not really noticed any issues with the car and it feels fine, but now I’m wondering what it would be like without it.

Hi, The E189 'fix' cannot be removed as such, but there are a few reputable tuners that can roll it back to a pre-fix software code. Just 'a re- map ' will not resolve the issues with vehicles post fix. It must be a roll- back. I had mine rolled back. Very happy again (myself and my car!)

Thanks for that, any recommendations of a tuner in the South East that would be able to complete that?

Any rough idea on cost too?
