when i use my key fob to unlock my car, all the other doors/boot unlock apart from the drivers door…

what is the issue??

Probably issues with the wires between the door and the body. They tend to snap in the rubber cover. I have this issue too. Sometimes unlocking works sometimes not.
If not then might be the locking module.

Does it lock on the key fob? If so it is almost certainly the very common VAG door lock module micro switch issue. Often they just need cleaning - there are several YouTube videos on the subject. I've currently got two doors affected. They seem to start going wrong after 5-years so the 8V owners have something to look forward to :whistle2:

I had this the other week check the wires first as suggest in the previous post by S. 3 of my wires were broken + some were split and showing the core. Soldered them up and some heat shrink good as new (a bit more to it than just a bit of solder though).

As said, check the wires in the bellows between the door and body first, I found three with split insulation, clearly they will break eventually, I've just left them for now. (2005 8pa 177k), both of my passenger doors gave up with unlocking within a couple of weeks of each other just before Xmas. A job for a fair weather day.
