I need a new engine cover and I've found two which look like they may be correct but have different part numbers.
I'm finding it difficult to locate the correct part number if someone could kindly help so I can order one before it sells.
My car is a Sept 2008 a3 2.0 tfsi I have the vin if anyone needs it.
The 2 part numbers are
06j103925s and
06j103925d
I am unsure of any slight differences
Thanks
Clive

Why don't you check the part number on your own engine cover and get the exact same one mate? Also, these are supposed to be only different revisions of the same part.

Cheers
Home from work now so yes, have been able to do just this
I was hoping to sort this during the day that's all as I was at work and had no access to the car so I could order in time for delivery by the weekend if possible.
Now for the broken battery box

06J103925D is the one you need Clive.

06J103925S was used on A3/S3/TT from 2010 through to 2013.

Ahh..wish I'd seen your post before I'd paid for the 06j103925s, after removing the existing cover from my car this is what is on it at present. They do have the "D", maybe someone at sometime had replaced it with the wrong one then, it's split and the badge is missing hence replacement.

I'm sure it'll be fine. They often interchange parts and change the last character of part numbers on a regular basis.

I'd be happier with the right part as only had the car 4 weeks and still getting things sorted. If they will switch the order I'll ask 1st thing.
Many thanks by the way

If too late it should fit correctly I take it? Only the existing one has missing press fit feet so it's hard for me to tell if it was supposed to be a snug fit if it were a complete item.
The "D" looks slightly deeper around the edges, less smoothed off if that makes sense.
They're from Motors in Motion in Worksop.

Spoke on the phone with the breakers and they said even though they have both the "S" and the "D" advertised, he confirmed both actual parts were identical!
I'd ordered the "S" so lets see what turns up for £36

Sorry for the late reply. Been a very busy day. I was going to say you shouldn't come into any issues as Audi often interchange parts with different characters at the end or even beginning as I found out when diagnosing an airbag fault.

The fault was with the connector on the crash sensor behind the headlight.

Original connector part number:
3B0 973 702

Part number of connector I used (VW):
1J0 973 702

Audi one was yellow and VW one was black but the VW one works just fine. I don't think you'll have anything to worry about, if not you can return it? Sales Of Goods Act grants any consumer the right to return any bought product which is not fit for purpose, of satisfactory quality or as described.

Delivery should be tomorrow so I'll test fit after work and let you know
