Hi, I just picked up my new A4 yesterday and I am having trouble with the bluetooth connection of my phone. The phone works ok to receive calls and dial calls with number input. However it will not copy over my contacts. Contacts are stored on the phone and set to sync and have all permissions accepted. It will only transfer over one contact, my own. I have tried unpairing and pairing from both the car and from the phone but the issue is present no matter which way I try.

Has anyone else encountered the same problem and found a solution?

I had lots of problems copying contacts with a Galaxy S5 in my A6. The car would create hundreds of random entries, several for the same person, and often fail to sync completely.

Try unpairing the phone, delete the Bluetooth connection at both ends and start again. My S5 used to pop up a contacts permission prompt about 2 minutes after the connection to the car was first made. If you missed it or accidentally clicked "no" it was game over - contacts would never sync and there was no option to fix it without re-pairng.

I gave up in the end and bought the bluetooth phonebook app. It's worked perfectly ever since, only copies contacts that exist, and I still use it on my Galaxy S7.

Thanks hellodave. I will have a look at the bluetotth phonebook app. I had an A6 previous to the A4 and had no issues with the contacts with it. Have deleted various times and repaired and making sure to accepted all permissions but no joy. Will look in to the app you talk about and see if it helps.

Hellodave, I have got a new S8 but have had no issues with pairing it and copying across contacts. Have you made sure that contact access, message access and sims card access are all enabled in the s8 bluetooth settings, click on the cog next to audi mmi 1130...
