These tables and graphs have started to make some sense. Still a long way to go but thinking about VCDS in couple of months and start to understand the car. It is a shame I only do less than 8 miles / per day and before I could log 4th gear pull data, I am outside my driveway parking the car

Still pondering on the reverse scoop for cooling

Do you think it would make much difference over the centre one you've got fitted just now ?

Heat wise no,but it would help keep water from the engine bay.
Not an actual issue as such (torrential rain has proved that) but less water in the engine bay is always a + lol.
Also I could cut more bonnet open if I did it lol,so maybe a touch better cooling wise & I quite like it now I have the Jag vents too

You are really inspired by the 'SAW' franchise aren't you XP, haha.

Jokes aside and imho aesthetically it would compliment the side vents and I am sure it is defo going to make some improvements to the temps. If I was brave (read 'had big enough balls ) like you and chop I'd definitely do it - go for it XP.

XP, what kind of reverse scoop are you looking at. The reason I ask is sometime ago when I was reading about the vents and scoops I came across a Subaru forum (I know what yall think ) and the guys mentioned it was actually raising the air-temps. Also and depending on the scoop you install you might actually be creating an air-dam which will eventually increase air-resistance. More beneficial at lower speeds though imho as that's when it would let hot air out and cold air in (and apologies I am talking rubbish).

Ah, so it is a no perhaps then . And is that the reason why your side vents are sat slightly closer to the windscreen? Did you change the undertray as well?

Undertray is untouched at the moment :)

I like the front but don't like (sorry) the wide ars. Maybe a tad bit smaller, i.e. I prefer size 12 ars rather than 16 (personal choice, aaaaiee)

Edit - if you type ars with an e Tapatalk doesn't like it and puts asterisks. Fooking intelligent

If I did it I'd go 40mm rather tan 70mm ;)

I think it requires cutting the arches though :whistle2:

I have modified the undertray as per https://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?t=98877 and have also put vents in the inner wing mud guards and have logged and experienced noticeably cooler inlet and under bonnet temperatures. This works great with my newly installed plm cooler kit

Braking out the jigsaw this wkd :sunglasses:

Did you say cutting up arches xp sounds like a team chav mission

Where are the extensions from, if it was possible with my current wheels and spacers I'd seriously consider a bit more width :tongueclosed: Iv been there before with a mk2 Astra gte :tearsofjoy:

Cutting out the arches would be taking Team Chav to a whole new level Chop, the wide look does look good though IMO. :hubbahubba:

In theory, but they have different panels that recess for the arches .

Search concave fender flares for the ones in the pic @Chop.

Yeh just seen that like you say

Found the above ones on eBay for £250, I'd just need to work out the best width I could go without having to change wheels, and what would be involved it current arches etc

Would want it to look right if I was going to go for it

Those wide arch pictures look ace!

Allot of people would say for an Audi the main thing that needs doing is smoothing over the rivets and creases to stop it looking like a "JDM rocket bunny kit" (which looks good on Jap car's but allot of people aren't a fan of them on Audi's), these pictures should better help explain:

"JDM" visible pop rivets:

Audi smoothed wide arches:

Some people do leave the rivets visible and prefer that style which is fair enough but it definitely makes the car look a bit more Jap:

Another thing to take into consideration (and probably another reason people leave the rivets and stuff) is how they can interfere with doors and front/rear bumpers but a bit of cutting should sort this, also in the long run if parts need replacing (like the arches or bumpers) then they'll need the same process again.

Main thing that made me mention this is I have b6 to b7 front arches (cut and welded between the two) and if these need replacing I will pour petrol over and around the car, light a match and call it a day

I'v always loved the jdm style look would deff be my choice

It's a funny thing the Audi brand some people get very upset with square numberplates and bonnet vents :tearsofjoy: I prob should have went jap but I love the build of the Audi and the shape of the avant so I'll just need to continue upsetting people whenever I get the chance

Mine are each about 45mm wider than standard, if that helps give you a reference point.
