I have just ordered the Vagcom cable interface from Ross-tech in the good old US of A, I did a lot of searching around the website before i pressed the buy button, Now i have ordered and paid for this item i get an email saying that my order is processed and despatched only to find i am going to be hit with a customs/taxes bill once it is delivered, I have bought stuff from the states before and i can't remember ever getting a customs bill, Is this normal and how much is the bill likely to be???
I could find no mention of this on their website and i did think that the delivery charge was a bit extreme also.

WOW, ordered my vagcom cable on Sunday and it arrived this morning, That is really a first class service, The delivery charge is justified in this case.
Well done Ross-Tech.

It is quite normal to have to pay customs/import tax when ordering stuff from the USA. I have been hit a few times.
Bit late now but there are of course UK sellers and we have an authorised dealer on the forum @NHN .
Great piece of kit and well worth the money as they don't lose a lot of the value because they are constantly updated.

Sadly i had ordered the unit from Ross-tech before i had searched the forum.................lesson learned.

Fro memory, the threshold for paying import duty on goods from outside the EU is around £120. My fear is that that we could be paying duty on goods imported from Europe after we've left the EU.
