What have you done to your 8V today?

Just been towed to local dealer by AA, fluid was coming from a filter that was only hand tight. Car still in warranty so that's ok just waiting on Audi Assist to confirm delivery of hire car.

Complete pain that!
Hopefully it's easy sorted with little or no damage mate.

Yes it the jb4 tuning box, I just wanted to make the extension cable so I could mount the box inside the car instead of the engine bay. It's about 2 meters longer now.

Night and day. I highly recommend and it's very customizable for any future mods. Few profiles I have, depending on what fuel I'm running for the track. Also have it so I can adjust everything on the mmi as I have an android device piggybacking on that too.

Well Audi Assist called and left a voicemail apparently asking me to call back, with no sign of any call from them I called back too late (5:15pm) for a hire car to be arranged tonight. So they arranged for a taxi home from work and to pick me up in the morning. Then got a call back at half 6 confirming delivery of an S3 tomorrow between 10-12.

I was about to look into the Nest system myself. What's your thoughts so far mate?

Ease of installation / hard-wired or wireless / quality etc.

Thanks :hi:

Took me a while to settle on Nest. But I already have two Nest Stats and Nest fire alarm and it all works so well together.

I'm so bad at DIY but I managed to install. It just plugs into a power socket. Quality is similar to Apple products. App is really good.

Only negative is costly subscription to Nest aware, which gives you online recording and all the other bells and whistles, but you can see why it's expensive as it's so good and very clever. For instance you can draw a box for where you want to be notified of any activity. You can set it up to notice the difference between people and animals and even sounds..

Hope that helps.

Taxi arrived 30mins late after being at a wrong house 5 miles away, great start to the day!

Black 17plate S3 SB with 4000 miles delivered at 9:30 is the only thing that I can really praise Audi Assist for.

Brilliant, thanks.

After AITP last week, decided the car needed a treat. So gave her an Interim, interim ( yes I typed it twice ) Oil & Filter change to keep things running perfectly. Takes about 30 mins ( including a cup of tea ).

Dropped of 2013 S3 8V hatch for resonator delete pipe fitting this morning! Valves opened via VCDS, so cant wait for the extra rasp... : ) Will report back later. Also, on Stg1 / TCU unicorn; worth getting an intake pipe or not with Stg1 only?

Painted rear hubs silver today.
First time wheels have been removed since build, 18 months, stuck solid.
Had to resort to kicking wheels to get them off, Luckily car was on trolley jack as it could have
been a bit embrassing using standard car jack
All cleaned up and lightly oil mating faces of wheel and also added some copper grease on wheel bolts.

fitted some modules to the rear lights so indicators are now a dynamic sweep like the most recent Audis. Really nice bit of kit and fitted well.

How much was the kit to make the blinkers dynamic? do you need the new lights, or just the old lights and the new module? Where did you get the module from?

thats the ones, saved me trying to do the youtube thing. Can you speed yours up or slow it down?

No, these are fixed speed. I think they are pretty spot on anyway.

I got the modules from carsystems.pl They sell on eBay but I got direct from their website as it worked out cheaper. Think they were €114. Just plug them between the existing plug and socket on your light cluster, 10 min job!

Great meeting you at AITP. I was parked next to your stunning S3 in my Floret Silver 1.8TFSI

I had my semi-dynamic indicators switched on by @DJAlix one of 15 VCDS Adaptions coded by Alex at AITP9 for a fraction of the cost of buying a module from eBay. !!

@DJAlix, what did you change? I have a VCDS and don't mind making changes, but didn't think there was anything that would work on the PFL.

I activated whats also sometimes referred to as "pace car" lights. Don't have the coding to hand at the moment but its in the VCDS thread:

@Matchman54 you have pace car indicators which flicker between the inner and outer cluster - this is done via VCDS

The modules which cost more money and requires to plug onto the outer cluster is a semi dynamic indicator motion. This is from my car

And just for reference
here's all 4 types.

Looking good mate, they are exactly the sort of quality you'd expect for an OEM part aren't they!

Hopefully this works, there is a dial on my module that you can turn to speed up or slow down. I bought some off eBay and ended up sending them back , cheaply made and one didn't work tbh the seller didn't moan but I have had to pay the return postage.

Finally after getting the parts a few months ago, had got the larger rear brakes on with ebc yellows. With the very dirty 20 inch rims, they still look dwarfed in comparison!

Think your iPhone needs an upgrade next ;)

Haha that's my old, old one. It's now used by the little one to watch YouTube and play games. I'm on an iPhone 6S plus now, suppose it'll be the 8 for me next or whatever they're gonna call it!
