Ara does work really well with the black edition trim - they've got one in the Birmingham Audi showroom at the mo.

As for the wheels, I used to covet the wing arm design and wished I could have justified it on my previous A3s (but a grand!) but I've gone totally off it now for some strange reason. Not criticising in any way as wheels are a very personal thing but I've surprised myself by how much my opinion of those ones has changed.

I don't know what it is but l think Ara looks better on the hatchbacks than on the saloon or maybe it's just photo dependant cracking photos all the same @MattSedg

Nah, the saloon would look better that the hatches if it was painted dog poo brown :p ;)

Lucky you. My S3 is in for repair atm and my insurance company gave me this, a Merc C300 AMG Convertible. Already miss my S3, this does get a lot more attention though, especially with the top down.

Must get more attention due to the sheer ugliness of it... horrible looking thing

Well that might be because of the picture I took wasn't great. This is how it looks with the top down from better photographer.

It's just that horrible roof that doesn't do it for me, I agree it looks nice in the white

Hey guys.
I registered here in January when I was about to order my new S3. Now, finally after 7 months of waiting I picked up the car yesterday.
My previous ride was a 2014 S3 8V in Daytona Grey. For the new one I chose Navarra Blue. At first I was worried a little bit since I knew the color only from the pictures here in the forum but after seeing it live I couldn't be happier. Especially when there's sunshine :)

Here are some impressions:

Was not sure how I would like the VC but it's just great!
S3 7

The new steering wheel - unfortunately they removed the "S3" Logo and the Aluminium style paddles that were both in the facelift.
S3 6

Some outside shots in front of an orange building to have a nice color contrast :)
S3 2

S3 1

S3 3

S3 4

S3 5

It seems to me that the facelift is louder if you hear it from the outside, however it seems to be more quiet from the inside ?! Pre facelifit you could hear every upshift-"fart" very clear - now you can only guess it. But otherwise I'm more than happy!

Cheers from Germany.

Oh, a blue nose ha. Do love the Gers, but they were an embarrassment last season and in all honesty, this year won't be too rosey either I bet. Good friend of mine is a die hard Rangers fan, never misses a game, said they had so much possession and did nothing with it today. He's sick fed up with them...as are most fans from what I hear.

Lol think getting rid of Miller would be somewhere to start from ha, but do agree, would love to see the Rangers of old. Just a substandard team.

Tried flicking through a lot of pages but can’t find any examples.

Anyone with black s3 saloon with black pack?

Had the car for just over a year now and have been reading through some of the detailing forums and at present think I'm doing a reasonable job of looking after it.... although the mrs thinks it a bit of an obsession to spend so much time on it

Nice defined edges and no weeds, the drive / lawn police will definitely approve.

The car is looking well too. Nano grey gets mixed reception on here but I really like the almost matt appearance you get in some lights. What detailing products are you using? Have you tried using a clay bar before applying the polish, it prepares the paint leaving it feeling as smooth as glass. It makes applying the polish much easier, you seem to get a deeper shine as well.

Yer....so clinical with yer landscaping...critique ...and never polish a car unless its for scratch removal or requires paint correction

Not actually used polish as such yet... I clay it and then apply a coat of Poorboys liquid nattys blue with a D A polisher with non cutting pad and then buff by hand with a really thick polishing cloth.. I use the D A simply because I suffer with tennis elbow and it makes it easier... I've also invested in a snow foam lance and 2 buckets with grit guards... hence why the mrs thinks I'm obsessed. But I got to say the garden is my first passion before the car cleaning Hence the "neat edges" I personally like the nano grey because as you say in the dark it looks Matt..and sometimes in the sun it you catch the metallic. When I'd ordered the car last year a few people told me to steer clear of the Nano... but I'm happy as you don't see too many about... especially as it's a saloon as well which I really love as I've had hatchback after hatchback most of my life

***...over a year....god time does fly...cars looking as new mate
Ye time does fly Jassy... I think I was one of the first people to post pics of the new shape when I got it in July last year. Don't know if I'd ever have the balls to try scratch removal etc... the DA is just to ease the wear and tear on the old elbows

Strange advice about never using polish but fair enough. Personally I find a coat of polish helps reduce the amount of salt the car picks up in the winter, makes it easier to wash as well.

I agree Nano Grey isn't very popular, this is one of reasons I chose it over Daytona. I've never seen a Nano A3 in the flesh so I took a bit of a leap of faith when i ordered mine. Hoping to take delivery this week.

I too took the leap of faith last year as I ordered the new shape (in Nano) so there wasn't one to look at before I got mine... all I can say mate is when I got to the dealers and saw it ... it was an instant yes. Good luck mate with yours and get the pics on when you get it

I always thought that, even more so after taking some 2000 grit wet and dry to the R32's bumper. Came up lovely though and the scratch was no more.

I thought it was intentional. The chrome stuff will be going soon aftermarket black edition will make it match right?

No all the rest seem to be colour coded with body colour. Makes it unique though lol.
Vegas Yellow will look good as a black edition, problem solved.
