£21 Jesus C someone's making a mint there, get them wrapped mate I got quoted £150 at a place near me for window trim and mirrors, never got it done but didn't think that was a bad price to have it wrapped properly

Hi pal I was thinking about plastidip, does it chip or need a good base to go onto like prepping the chrome work?
Where can you buy the cans?

I'd buy them at a local car accessories place and do the DIY method, low tack tape and paper covering the cars windows/body around the areas, clean with alcohol based cleaner and four coats

Maybe it's because I'm not confident with DIY car bits and wrapping I've done in the past has been questionable at best but personally I'd just buy the none chrome items and swap the window trims/grille.

Jake that does not compute
I know for a fact removing the chrome strips is a bit more than just swapping them, these have clips which are a pita and the grill is a bumper off job.
In the worse case scenario you mess up you peel it off and start again

I looked into this and the none chrome window trims were a pain to swap, some bonded on and others were a door strip down, plus they cost a fortune, the roof bars need the roof liner removed to change them, it's deff the more proffesional option but a lot of work and cost

I had a mare with plasti dip on my chrome roof bars just couldn't get it to stick and wasn't happy with the ruff finish

For the front main grille surround I plasti dipped mine. Had it replaced for a black gloss but for a reason. If plasti dip peel off, black will be still there, less visible than chrome. Always can touch it up when convenient, not in a mad rush that someone will spot the chrome. Maybe it's just me.

I personally plasti dipped chromes around the doors and it looked sick. Just like black edition but in matt finish. Made a thread about it.
After a week, it started to peel off due to rubber seals on all of the doors rubbing on it. It could not withstand the amount of closing and opening doors.
Had to take it down as it was looking disgusting.

Been recommended a wrap also but will hold with it for a moment as my better half didn't liked it.

Also tried the electrical tape. Like @glenandem, did seen it on the YT and was impressed but got off the fleeBay much cheaper.
Problem with that tape is, that it cannot go over the rear window curve as a one piece. Starting from the front and getting to the curve and messing it up, made me frustrated as had to start all over. Staring from the rear got even more p!ssed as it wasn't just working.

If you wrap it properly or have it done for you, use one big vinyl piece to cover the whole trims and cut out the windows. Wrap it onto the chrome moulds and it will look better and it be ok with door seals.

The roof bars aren't too difficult to change. You can drop one side of the roof lining at a time and unscrew the 3 bolts that hold them on . It's a bit tricky and a magnetic bit is a must. Took about 3 hrs to do mine. Wrapping or spraying definately appears to be the best option for the window trims. Just take your time an redo if you make a mistake. I need to redo one door trim for the third time due to beginners mistakes but it's very easy to peel off an try again

Good effort mate, hell of a lot of work though and to have to keep touching it up too think I'd rather give a company a couple of hundred quid and get them to wrap it, and I do everything myself

I left mine chrome in the end as everyone seems to delete it and I liked how it broke the black up a bit
