For the front main grille surround I plasti dipped mine. Had it replaced for a black gloss but for a reason. If plasti dip peel off, black will be still there, less visible than chrome. Always can touch it up when convenient, not in a mad rush that someone will spot the chrome. Maybe it's just me.
I personally plasti dipped chromes around the doors and it looked sick. Just like black edition but in matt finish. Made a thread about it.
After a week, it started to peel off due to rubber seals on all of the doors rubbing on it. It could not withstand the amount of closing and opening doors.
Had to take it down as it was looking disgusting.
Been recommended a wrap also but will hold with it for a moment as my better half didn't liked it.
Also tried the electrical tape. Like
@glenandem, did seen it on the YT and was impressed but got off the fleeBay much cheaper.
Problem with that tape is, that it cannot go over the rear window curve as a one piece. Starting from the front and getting to the curve and messing it up, made me frustrated as had to start all over. Staring from the rear got even more p!ssed as it wasn't just working.
If you wrap it properly or have it done for you, use one big vinyl piece to cover the whole trims and cut out the windows. Wrap it onto the chrome moulds and it will look better and it be ok with door seals.
