It can fly onto a ship and get to the dealer or it can sit at Emden for 2, 3 or even 4 weeks worst case. you can then get into ship tracking and some detective work lol. Was very much a reckoner based on other one, did say he can't say for sure however but they want it with me in September!

Cars at the dealers - Still have to wait until the 1st sept :( going to be a long two weeks!

Little tip, depending on how you are financing your car you may need to add VWFS as a nominee on your retention certificate. The Audi salesperson I'm dealing with knew my car would registered on a person plate but omitted to tell me about the nominee so my car has been sat at the dealer since late last week waiting for my certificate to be reprocessed through the DVLA.

Thanks for the info, I plan on changing it about 6 months in/when I get round to doing it!

Same boat mate, my cars been at the stealers now for two weeks or so... roll on the 1st sept ! You'll see me at least twice at the fuel

Although frustrating, i have to say knowing that its there adds to the excitement for sure! Talking of fuel...Have many people managed to swing a full tank from the dealer or most settle for 1/2? Full tank would be great to get to know the car! :s3addict:

It sure does, keeping that excitement contanied for me is beginning to become uncontrolable, especially after sitting in her last weekend, listing to that exchust burble ! my missus is taking the brunt of s3 chatter now, I have gap and car insurance all ready to kick in on the 1st ! Full tank of fuel on the house mate, easy negotiationable ! Don't think I had to say, was offered first hand...

I've been trying to resist the urge to go and peek after work but I have a feeling I may crack pretty soon! Ah that's perfect mate, ill make sure I manage to get a full tank then!

Is your build actually scheduled for next week? Its normal that the pre build stages happen the week before. Your car should be in QC (7) by Monday next week and at the port by mid next week. Then the unknown wait begins, you may get Status 39 in a matter of days or it can sit at the port for up to a month. Mine waited for 11 days.

Was scheduled to start 21st

Do you know what the status codes relate to?

Hopefully the ships are kind to me, if not I have a boat so might pop to Germany to collect it

21st? so your right on schedule compared to all other builds.

30 - Left the factory (this is the first true code, status 20 - 24 are all machine generated).
38 - arrived at port, cleared for shipping (this disappears as soon as 39 happens)
39 - On a ship
40 - Arrived in UK
50 - ?
60 - Despatched to dealer
70 - Arrived at Dealer

At status 30 you can pickup your VIN number from the bottom of the JSON report. This allows you to download your owners manual from myaudi.com

How do I download my cars user manual mate, once I'm logged into my audi ? Cheers
 
Once you have your VIN number you need to setup an account at www.myaudi.com this is a different website than the one you use to track progress of your car's build. Once you have an account you add the car's VIN number it brings in all your cars details and somewhere in the menu options is the user manual. Don't be alarmed if it doesn't recognise your VIN at first it can take a few days from status 30 before all the systems sync.

My car was due to start production on Monday like many others, but I've checked the tracker this morning and it's now at the paint shop.

Hi guys, just jumping across forums! Getting my first Audi and very excited! Has anyone secured their collection date with their dealer for Sept? My S5 arrived at the dealer yesterday and youraudi tracking says make collection plans. Anyone secured Sept 1st collection?

Tempted to go have a peak after work!

Arranged to pick mine up on the 1st what a ball ache waiting for the new reg! probably be the slowest 2 weeks of my life

I am using a MAC - couldn't get it to work through safari, downloaded crome worked a treat :blow:
 
Does the tracker normally jump a few steps in front? Build is supposed to start today, yet I'm at the QC stage already!?

Also, what's the difference between order status under the order number on the JSON feed and the order status in the order history? IE order status under the order number says 20, but the order history is showing 24 (which would match up with the QC stage).
 
all cars start their build the middle of the week before the date advertised on the audi.co.uk order tracker so this is perfectly normal.

The status up to 24 don't really mean too much, Status 30 - left the factory is the first real point, at this point the audi.co.uk order tracker states in transit. You should get status 30 in the next few days.
 
Just spoke to the dealer to ask for a sneak peak before collection in sept but hes said its at their private holding centre so i am just going to have to try my best to forget the car even exists until next friday :bye:

Its all down how long your car waits at the port. Since Ive been watching this thread some cars have got on a ship in a matter of days I've also seen cars held at the port for almost a month. Mine sat for 10 days at Emden and 4 days later it was at the dealer.

On a different note, I'm collecting this afternoon.... :yes:

My car was sat at Emden port for 2 weeks and then was sat at Grimsby for another week before arriving at dealers. (I think this is slightly longer than most but not sure)
 
STATUS 70 today :) yayyyyy ........although waiting booooo :(

Mine took 19 days from 30 QC to 40 at docks UK side then a further week till at dealers but there was no rush on dealers behalf too transport it as had already decided i was waiting till Sep. 26 days from build to dealer i think is pretty good
