Facelift Jassy's Discussion/Build/Wait Voodoo Blue S3 Saloon Thread

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....methinks the S3 hatchback looks bland in a sea of lookalikes and that includes SUVs....How can you "hate" the styling of the above S3 saloon?

I meant the RS3 saloon, why I quoted with the photos. It just doesn't look aggressive enough for what's underneath the hood. I know people like the understated look, but Christ, they've sure as h3ll nailed that!!!!! I could walk past one and not notice quite easily. Other than those exhaust pipes, it hardly suggests serious performance car.

Audi has never been a manufacturer to go all out boy racer in the styling department. If you want that go get a Type R which is boy racer on steroids! I think Audi nailed it with the subtle S3 and just gave the RS3 enough of a pump up for it to stand out above the S3.
However, it would be a boring world if everyone had the same opinions!

I find the Type R to over the top! I'm a difficult man to please, that's why I like to add the odd spoiler or side skirts. Nothing too over the top, just make it look that bit more aggressive. Think the RS could have had beefier arches or cracking side skirts etc

You're at the wind up? Right? Otherwise I'd have pied off the S3 for this...

Who orders a bog standard RS3 though? Those monthlies would soon increase once you add a few bits.

Suppose... farcical charging 45k for a car and not even give it decent standard spec. Audi know how to take their customers for a ride. They've ridden me ****** well

RS3 must have options metallic paint £550/£750, sport exhaust £1000,power folding door mirrors, £275,Super sport seats £695 that's must have options £47,000 and nevermind the nice ones, every £1000 you spend on options adds £25 on top of that £509 monthly that doesn't make sense to me maybe l have come to my senses even if l where loaded l still wouldn't give audi the full asking price for it just on principle alone

I've never specced up cars that I've bought. As long as it's got Sat Nav, S-Tronic, Sport seats and descent 18s/19s then I'm happy! My current A3 is standard spec and has served me very well. Only thing it's missing is NAV, but I've got google maps which to be fair is pretty damn good.
When I order my S3 at the turn of the year the only thing I'll add, if it's in budget will be 19 V-Spokes. If I'm still in budget and have some wiggle room I'll add the Pano Roof. Apart from that the S3 has everything I need as standard!

19`alloys and pano-roof sounds swell to me mate, hope you can join the S3 club but just keep it under £40k mate lol

@Scottyg where you will see the biggest difference between glacier and ibis, is on darker, gloomy, rainy days and with street lighting, that is where glacier really shines.

I'm unlikely to see another in South Wales, good enough for me ;)

Except for the one I saw a year ago at Audi which lives 45 minutes away from me :tearsofjoy:

Stunning in this colour especially with the matt aluminium trim, black optics/black rotors... no not on this colour, only one down side to mica blue is..... Extremely high maintenance as is sepang to a lesser extent, hence l am staying away from dark blue colours
Reasons for going for Voodoo are in your face lairy, Audi's are in general a tad tame in there designs even RS cars, it's extremely rare on any Audi, yeah me choosing Voodoo unseen is a gamble but that's half the fun and excitement

Ps matt aluminium roof rails look awesome on mica blue

That RS3 retailed for over £50k was selling for £46k 3k miles now given what this spec would be on a new RS3. It's seems a ****** bargain now and the one car that got away from me

Yep I've gone for all Alu trim, with Alu rails. I've got the standard silver wheels, can't justify £1100 for a different colour wheel even though I do love them.

High maintenance in what way? Grey is a nightmare for swirling, not as bad as black though. Don't tend to see any dust on the grey car, only on the glass.

I really don't get this facination for roof rails lol :)

If you need a roof box fair enough ... but purely for aesthetics wtf ???

My other pet hate is chrome window cappings ... far too "80's GLS looking"

Like the chrome grille & surround & rear valance but would have to wrap the window cappings in black ... would like Daytona with this look.

White with black edition does look great ... as does floret lol :)

As well as a different colour the fronts wear 255/30's rather than 235/35's configurator has them at £695 :grinning:

Yep don't remind me :(

Yes that is correct, but the wider tyre takes the car 1gram into the next tax band and that is an extra £400. Not such a clever move by Audi!!

So does that mean the tyres on the fronts are different to the rears the same as Mercs are? Or am I being thick as two short planks!!

We aren't talking S3 now Scott.

The RS3's optional wheels give you 255 on the front and 235 on the rear. If you go with the standard silver wheels, they are 235 all around.

I do have a strange excitement of the thought of an Audi roof box in Racing Blue too ;) Me and the girlfriend spend a few nights in a caravan last week, I really struggled to fit everything in the Sportback!! (Bedding, clothes, food)

One day I will need a roof box, so I intend to get one for that one day ;)

But otherwise the rails are for aesthetics, they look great because the rails are flush to the roof now. They will brighten up the car a bit, not that Racing Blue needs brightening.

Wheel upgrade...£695....get rid of them silly drivers aid gadgets....they're a gimmick and concentrate on the exterior/interior
