is Audi assist run by the AA? My car is 3 yo next month and I have had my renewal through and was wondering if it was worth shopping around or sticking with Audi assist ?
Cheers Steve

Yes it is, you can either request a VAG Technician or an AA Patrol.

Stick with them, 110%!! Absolutely superb service, use it once and it pays for itself 10 times over.

Called them for my S3, arranged a 1 hour time slot in the morning and he arrived 20 minutes before the slot. Within 30 minutes of him diagnosing on the driveway I had a recovery truck, not just any but a box trailer so the car was totally enclosed. Then within 2 hours on a Sunday I had a hire car arranged to collect from Europcar.

Audi Assist couldn't apologise enough for them not being able to deliver the car, but it was a Sunday and any other day they would have it driven to you.

I used the replacement vehicle team a second time when my S3 again went to Audi and I got told it had to stay, great service again. They arranged and paid for a Taxi from the Audi centre to the Europcar branch, where they had an Audi UK owned S3 waiting for me.

You may get cover for £20-£30 cheaper, but you will not match the service, well worth £99 a year.

Used them twice now for punctures and both times been out to me within the hour, once at home and once on the road.

How much is the renewal btw?

When I had it, it was just a standard printed card that had £99 on it. I thought that was steep, until I used it! Only got to use it once for it to be worthwhile, especially with a hire car available 24/7.

I renewed mine with Audi Assist last April, and went for the 2 year deal, which was FAR cheaper than any other company was offering, especially as it also covers my car during my frequent trips to France.

That's OK for piece of mind. Didn't know about the hire car part though!

If its £99 its worth while though I have a v similar service via my bank directly with the bank which includes hire car etc.

The only advatange of using audi assist is that you have to get a vag car otherwise I see no difference.

You don't necessarily get a VAG car, I had a Vauxhall at first.
But, you do get the option to ask for a VAG Technician who turn up in their own silver marked customer service vans, rather than an AA patrol. Most of these are ex-technicians from dealers.

It was £145 for 2 years
That's good then. Thinking of just keeping mine now for the full 4 years pcp, banging breakdown cover and another 12 month warranty on it, new tyres and MOT.

Thanks everyone, minds made up. The renewal is £89 or £145 for 2 years. Its not about the money more around having an Audi engineer come out if needed. I'm not sure if I will change the car next year so will extend for a further year

I recently renewed at £145 for the 2 years extension. It includes the top level cover equivalent by the AA. If you go directly with the AA, 2yrs cover would be around 3/4 times more expensive because it includes full EU cover too. Its a superb deal. You won't find any cheaper for the level of cover & if you do then it won't be with a company that is worth being with. I remember paying £30 for Start Rescue years ago. Seemed great until my clutch went on a Mini Cooper, instead of using the winch to get it on the back of a lorry, the guy decided to bunny hop it on in 1st. Didn't go well! Technitians were from those back alley garages that you really don't touching your car! Anyway, don't forget with the Audi Assist package you can also pass it on when you sell the car unlike the extended warranty.

Yep very good deal, I just looked on the AA site:

For 1 year
AA

Didn't know some of this (like getting a hire car etc) as I've never had to use it to date with any of my cars, but thanks for the info gents

Can anyone see what regions in Europe the Audi Assist AA cover covers? just went to get a quote on the AA website just to see how good a deal the £145 for 2yrs is and it comes up as having 3 Zone options in Europe. If i click All Zones in Europe then the quote is £150 for my car for EU cover without the UK cover added on!! Apparently you can't add it to the existing UK quote cover, it has to be a separate policy i think. Add that to the £109 quote above for UK cover, makes it £259 per year if you go direct to the AA! crazy!
