With the new car arriving later this year, I'm wondering whether the servicing plans are worth looking at or not.

Does anyone here have one or know how much they are? Are they a rip-off or worth looking into?

I had complete for my s3. £34 per month over 3 years. All in all I think it was worth it. 3 services, brake fluid, Haldex oil not and set of tyres. Had it on my S4 and now my S5. For me a good way to budget.

That's all it is really, a way of budgeting. I think I was advised against it by a family member who worked at the dealership as it was simply not worth it. May as well just put £x in a bank account each month if that's the only way to stop yourself spending it :) Better also if you're gonna ditch the car part way through the PCP or whatever - less hassle

Which plan was that - service & maintenance? Obviously a lot depends on how many miles you're doing.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to work out - if they effectively give you a discount over the regular prices then fair enough but if it's just as expensive (or more so) then there's not much point really.

Service, Maintenance and Tyres over 27000 miles/3 years. When I had my S4 I had 3 sets of tyres plus front discs and pads all covered by the package so was well worth it. S3 probably broke even. as they say, horses for courses. As a way of budgeting it works for me. I believe you can cancel mid term with no penalty. But if you want to choose your own tyres, or put winter tyres on the tyre part is not worth it.

When I bought my car I paid upfront for a 3 year package for £399. So that was 3 annual services (oil changes every time).
I have just booked the final one (does not include MOT). With the confirmation email was details of a plan for the next two years. Pay monthly or upfront and save (I think about 20%) over standard service charges. I'm thinking of going for that.
But neither of these was a cover all plan - just the standard servicing.

I think this 3 for £399 was the really great deal that people here rave about, but unfortunately I don't believe it is offered anymore

I think that's correct. It was quoted in the brochure when I ordered my car, but was missing from the current brochure when I took delivery. But the dealer honoured it anyway.

Thanks for the input. Looking at exactly what's covered by each level, it looks like a bit of a con to me.

For example, the maintenance option says it covers "Other oils and fluids required within the service schedule". So despite those being required as part of regular servicing, they're not covered by the service part of the plan? It also says it covers brake repairs, cooling system repairs, engine repairs, electrical system and so forth. All of those would fall under the warranty if they went wrong in the first few years anyway.

So the service only option doesn't actually cover everything required during servicing and maintenance seems to include things which would be covered by warranty anyway.

Use your warranty as it should be used! Get your services done by an Audi specialist, I got quoted £440 at Audi for my 2nd S3 service, got it done for £220 at an Audi specialist.
