I've been running VCDS open exhaust flap mod for a long while, but just now I noticed that when parked, I can feel exhaust coming out from both of the left pipes, but on the driver side, the far right exhaust is very faint??? It's almost like the flap is not open? Can someone with S3 and open exhaust flap mod please help check if this is normal for the far right pipe? Thanks!

Happens on all brands mate, nothing to worry about if I remember right. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure the exhaust gasses will take the least restrictive route out of the exhaust.

This is not normal if flaps are open. All 4 pipes should vent pretty evenly. I have come across something similar previously where a car had both right pipes venting but the outer left only faintly. Once again flaps had been open for a long time.

The following solved it.

If you can complete this on a cold engine when car is on 'choke' when vapour is clearly visible and at its most fierce thats better.

*Close the flaps using VCDS
* Turn car on
* You should feel both the inner pipes venting - as per stock car. If they are not venting you have a problem. - Check any objects stuck / pushed blocking pipes.
* Once car has run for a minute or two gently blip the throttle a few times.

Presuming both inner pipes vent then.... turn car off.

* Open the flaps using VCDS
* Turn car on
* Blip the throttle a few times
* All 4 pipes should now be venting

For easy reference here is the mod for VCDS

Exhaust flaps all open

===================
1 – Engine module
Long coding
ExhaustFlapsdeactivate
Byte 9
Bit 2 - Exhaust Flaps installed check box default activated – deactivate it and save as usual.

Hope that helps you.

Thanks! Will give that a try!

Hmm... I tried, but with flaps enabled or not, still the same faint vent from the far right pipe, the other 3 venting normally... No codes so not sure if flap is stuck, if there any physical way to check the flap? Thanks!
