Anybody else noticed any little imperfections on their cars yet?
Im very aware that this is very OTT, but it really bothers me at times.

Also....anybody else notice how Audi have skimped on the lacquer protection under the bonnet.

Cost cuts like this really bother me.
Especially when you've spent so much on a car (46k in my case)
They've hit the facelift with so many, Cheap cloth battery cover.... rear arch liners!? Cloth material? Universal S badge branding!

Is there anything I should be aware of!?

Sure on my new S3 Saloon:

1. Dodgy Suspension (fixed)
2. Dodgy pano roof frame (not fixed)
3. Dodgy driver side door seals (not fixed)
4. Dodgy wind screen wipers (not fixed)
5. Dodgy gearshift LEDS (not fixed).

Admittedly to get those fixed I just have to book the car into the dealer but I want to keep my new car not lose it for several days.

I use that button for turning the sat nav voice guidance on and off and it has never gone wrong since I programmed it 7 months ago.

Ah yes! I have noticed this myself! I don't use it very often..... subconsciously this maybe the reason why.
I have it set also for drive select

The paint under the bonnet is far better than most manufacturers.

Its even, with no missing areas.

Ford cant even be bothered to laquer the paint behind the boot lid!!

I guess that's why I'm always in dynamic
Ah but there lies another issue.......... it's not really in Dynamic when you start up next time even although it says it is.

And.... the phone doesn't always connect via Bluetooth

And..... my iPod always goes back to the start, not where I left off

And..... the recent Google Maps issues

Comparing apples to pears there mate. 46k...you'd expect better.

Playing music from iPhone or iPod annoyed me too. I copied everything to an SD card (about 100 Gb music) and then copied a playlist to the "jukebox" internal car HDD. Now I can random play the playlist immediately with no waiting for a bluetooth connection. It was quite a time consuming process -I found I had to edit a lot of artwork that was fine in iTunes on my Mac but disappeared as soon as it was copied to SD card. Anyway it's done now.

It annoys me that music starts playing even if it was paused/muted when I left the car last time.

Good advice.
The thing is, all this worked fine in my A5 and S5!

35k roughly mate, your optional extras don't mean the quality should be of that of a 46k car

@MattSedg @Audi Bairn After searching some threads about the MMI forgetting the B&O sound settings with the non Touch Plus MMI - do you happen to have the base MMI?

The rubber on your shark fin is just folded? Get a plastic trim tool or anything soft and just pull it out? That's a 7 second fix.

The paint under the bonnet has been mentioned and complained about before when someone had theirs repaired. The engine bay has a DIFFERENT paint code to the outer body, it's designed to be a flat finish! Besides, don't have to polish it now do you? :p

Your car is a £46k car because of the options you naively put on it, your nik picking to be honest with you or just want to brag your car cost £46000

Naively? Brag? Aha! Coming from the person that is boasting his entire spec on his signature? Lol!

Ok..... no need to be shrewd here.

My car is supposed to be a sense of achievement for myself....my pride and joy!
46k is a lot of money to me, and I work very hard to pay for the car. Probably like most price on here!
Nik picking it may be.... but Audi to me is supposed to be premium brand, and with that I think I'm entitled to a little critism as after all.....I am the customer.

I don't look at it as cost cuts coming from a company that vastly rule the market with their high priced vehicles. <(premium brand?)
What need is there for these cost cuts?
I look it as....hmmm "how can we make more money!?"

In my opinion, these little Nik picky things addressed above are actual issues that annoy people like myself, and more is to be expected for my hard earnt money.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Car, I'm just a little old fashioned with certain things, and consider myself a huge car enthusiast within the vag group.

I also have huge OCD, but that's not my problem.

It's not folded...its creased. Not likely to iron out no matter what I do. Not really worth messing about with it to be honest.

As I have said on the OP, I'm very aware it's a little OTT. Just wondered if anyone else had noticed any little things like this themselves.

A few little ones for me.

Door seals are terrible on FL, BT is a bit iffy and won't always connect to Android Auto either.

Still an improvement over the pre-sense that continually tried to give me a heart attack :)

Si :)

To me it definitely looks like it's folded under, because you can see paint where you'd expect the rubber to sit. Ask Audi, if it is lifted like that it could let water in.. get it replaced.

It's not OTT, I am a perfectionist too and I understand.

It's highly specced...still, show me a decent Porsche for that sort of money

All around £46k

A highly specced one with less than 2k on the clock www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201707097214857?

or one from a main dealership www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201707217581536?

or even a rag top www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201705155474229?

Plenty around.

But we all have our own ideas, so as long as you are happy that's the main thing :)

I was just teasing ya.........yip lol...l do get a few points you made about the car.....the more you spend the more you expect,as for the OP who mentioned the Porsche....go and a spec 718 with even mandatory options its over £50k easily...l thought about one but no too expensive given Porsche dont do discounts and at the time l was looking at the 718 there was a waiting list

Have you used the finance calculator for that car....fffs..........its megabucks mate

Naa I've not but I can imagine! Only said what I said as there was no mention of finance in the 46k they were talking about.

Me personally, I'd have the previous gen with the N.A engines, something about a 2.0 turbo in a Porsche just doesn't sound right to me

No comparison really, new Porsche vs new Audi = Audi cheaper, used Porsche vs new Audi = Audi cheaper - on finance anyway.

I nearly bought a used Cayman around 4-5k less than my S3 I've ordered and the Cayman was just over £100 more per month with the same deposit/term/mileage.

Still... I really want to have a Porsche someday, so maybe my next car will be (not even got my Audi yet...)

I configured the 718 it came to something like £5ok thats with no leather or sports exhaust or electric seats, just 20"s the exact same as the white Porker in the link, also configured LED lights ....probably around standard S3 spec at £50k.....Climate control is even a option on it................stone the frickin crows...........Porsche make Audis seem like a Korean specced car.................besides that its a weekend car
