Audi A4 Avant 2.0TFSI Quattro s-line

Unfortunately time has come to part with my pride and joy after almost 7 years of ownership. Its the longest period I've owned a car and can confidently say its been the best one of the bunch. I am only forced to sell it as we've reached the peak on what the rest of family can bare in terms of space. Kids are now 14, 12 and 9 and its only because of their constant bickering that I am being forced to do this.

So before I put it out on the market I want to get some of your expert opinions on what you think its worth. I've done a quick search and cannot find anything of similar spec which has been maintained as well as mine. Ideally I would like to sell it someone who can appreciate it for what it is with all the maintenance and mods had done to it.

The car has been maintained impeccably, even to the point that my wife tells me that I've spent more on maintaining it to what I paid to purchase it. No expense has ever been spared....The car does not look or run like its almost 12 years old or the fact that it has 124k on it. I've had compliments on how it looks a lot younger that it actually is. I have my private plate so unable to tell its age from the reg (will remove this before sale). The car has never let me down EVER!

well that's a sad situation chap, looks like you have put a lot of time and hard work into it, I would'nt part with it quite frankly.
I know what I would do......loose the kids....(only joking) or find something cheap and basic to carry them around in, sometimes its the best way as you wont get another one as good if you sell this one....
good luck with it.

Thanks Rob, loosing the kids sounds like a plan :smirk:
The Mrs has a car which I also finance and therefore couldn't afford to run a third. I've been through a few options like upgrading the wife's one to a 7 seater but it will be too big for her handle as will be the A4. She's a new driver.
So unfortunately as sad as it is, I will have to part with the A4.
Any idea of price I should advertise it at?

I am sure you have heard it many times before but a car is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. It sounds like a great car that has been well looked after with features that a serious owner would like. You are in the position of not having to sell it right away so time is on your side to a certain extent. You are never going to find an exact car match but on Autotrader you can get an idea.
The average punter isn't going to pay much over the top of what he can get a good car for as. Yours has average mileage for the year but this may even put some people off as there are cars available with less or even half that.Had a quick look on Autotrader.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201707257712543? 100k 5.5K
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201707197529514? 64K 8.5k
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201705195613029? 92k 6.4K
One of the other issues you have is the B8 A4 is available at reasonable prices in the range between 5.5K and 8.5K. You are a private seller.
I think you are in the 7-7.5K bracket depending on how quick you want to sell it.
If you think putting the kids in a larger car will reduce the bickering / are we there yet etc I don't think it will.
You could buy something like this and they will still find ways to annoy each other.

Not sure on value but unless you can sell it to another b7 enthusiast who will appreciate it and what a great car it is, you be looking at market value I afraid and that price may be very disappointing.
Also with the new reg out shortly the resale value may be even lower.
Anyway you can keep it chap, such a waste otherwise.

Thanks gents for the pointers and desertstorm for the autotrader links. I'd be over the moon with 7k, but looking at your examples I don't think ill be able to achieve that. I forgot to mention mine is a 55 plate, although I did state its 12 years old so you may have worked that one out.
I think i'll start at around the 5.5k mark. As you say I am not in a huge hurry to sell it.

Just want to add that this forum has been a massive help during my ownership of the car and even though my contributions have been minimum, I've certainly learnt a lot and felt guided. Many thanks ALL.

Webuyanycar.com have a really annoying advert, but they are actually a reasonable guide to what you can expect to get, as long as your honest in your description of the car.

As others have said, all the blood sweat, tears and extras etc will not be reflected in the valuation, but needs must and all that.

Sorry if this disappoints you but I think you will be lucky to get 4000 for it, mods and extras are nice but it's age and milage that people will be looking at dude, again sorry if this disappoints u mate just trying to be realistic and I hope you do get 5 or 6 k just can't see it, good luck whatever u do

For some reason I had it in my head that it was a 2007 car. As it's that bit older I think offer it around 5.5K and see what offers you get. Nobody pays the asking price but I would of thought 5K is a good price if you can get it.
A lot of it is luck, getting the right person to come and see it and if the car is good enough it will sell itself.
In my books you are already ahead having some decent tyres on the car. First thing I look at.

Agree with other comments on here, I bought mine a couple of months ago for a bit less than 4k and it's quattro, same engine and only 94k on the clock, with full audi service history.

While yours has clearly been looked after much better than most and has some nice mods on it, unfortunately most of the general public won't give you more money for that.

Definitely mirror what Rob says in trying to find a way to keep it, it sounds like a sale you may regret in the future.
