I am sure I saw that the S3 model - no matter if it Saloon or sportback should come with the 4 rings puddle lights?!

My car didn’t - I got some separate Quattro lights but if I should have had Audi rings I want them and will use them on the back.

Can anyone show me where it says that so I can go back to the dealer on that? Thanks.

Mine did, bought June this year

Grab the brochure which specs them as standard.

Yes, you'll get it all here.
My posts #35, 44 & 46 cover what happened with me. All sorted free of charge by dealer.
Some dealers elsewhere were resistant but if you experience this get them told, they're are 100% wrong.

Picked my car up the other Friday and four ring puddle lights had been fitted by the dealer when I collected, they even left the plain lights in the box for me. Part No. on box is 4G0.052.133G if this helps, get your dealer to sort as I assume they should have changed them before you picked up like my dealer did.

Mines a My17 S3 should mine have them when I collect today or is only MY18 cars that should have them

I wasn't aware re the 4 Rings puddle lights - so was pleasantly surprised when I collected the Car.

As others have said - Car must have shipped with standard Door lights/Dealership fitted the 4 Rings/put the original lights in the glove box.

MY17 should have the rings on front doors as standard and standard ones on rear doors (if you have rear doors).

Mine was delivered August '16 and had them but then there seemed to be a gap when people weren't getting them.
I suspect the early ones were faulty as mine melted and I had them replaced a month ago with the G variant.

Yes but mine didn't and my dealer said if I want them I'd have to pay £60 for them, even though a few days earlier when I asked about them he said they were standard on the front doors.

Whilst my car didn't have them when i collected it last October, I have had emails recently from the dealer i bought from asking me to book in to have them fitted - presumably Audi paying them for the work.

I have declined as I think they are a little naff - but its all subjective.

Should I have audi beam in my rear doors before I contact my dealer

Your dealer is wrong. Mine checked into it and then changed them over free. As mentioned above, there was a batch which had standard lights on front doors for a spell but you should have the Audi Beam.

I know he's wrong, he made excuses about no subwoofer settings and had to check if the car had a subwoofer even though it has B&O. I just don't think its worth the hassle for these minor lights.

Whats the deal with the subwoofer? I have B&O and (what i presume is) the sub in the spare wheel in the boot but no sub settings in the MMI.... is this wrong?

Edit: found the thread.

So I asked my dealer. He says because I ordered Quattro lights for the front they didn't supply the Audi rings.

The Quattro replaced the Audi rings; but I paid extra for the Quattro lights.

Audi shouldn't take away something provided as standard because I paid extra.

He said I will need to contact audi customer services about this.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I saw your tweet earlier.
Had you done nothing, your car should've had Audi Rings on front doors as standard.
I assume you ordered the quattro version as an "upgrade"?
Like any optional extra you should've only been charged the extra over cost to go from what was specified as standard to upgrade to what was specified.
But, like any other optional extra, you don't get the standard part too (e.g. Upgrading alloys).

I paid the full price £86.32 without tax.

It wasn't an upgrade. It was an optional extra. The Quattro lights came separately in a box and the car had standard lights preinstalled.

I maybe phrased it wrongly. What I meant by upgrade was that you got them as an optional extra rather than Audi agreeing to provide "quattro" in lieu of the Rings for Audi Beam.
Strictly speaking they should have installed them too albeit they're easy to swap over.

@audiBairn So are you agreeing with me or not. I can't tell lol

Kind of ha ha!

If your car had come with standard lights, you'd be 100% correct in asking for it to be changed to Audi logo free of charge (some dealer may give you the spare standard lights they removed other may not, I don't think they'd be obliged to though).

The only thing that muddies the water is the fact that you got them to fit quattro lights rather than the logo which are what's referred to in the brochure. I'm not clear on what led up to you getting quattro instead of rings? Although, either way, I'd be arguing with them that both lights cost the same, it should've had Audi Beam as standard (whatever the logo) and you should get a full refund.

They gave me the standard lights. So yes your agreeing with me.

I didn't know it came with ring lights when I ordered and I wanted the Quattro lights.

But I paid full price and the car came with the standard (i.e. Non beam) lights. The dealer changed them for the Quattro lights.

So I should have also gotten the ring lights.

Let's see what Audi CS say.

Unless I'm missing something @Spinstorm, you paid to have the Quattro logo instead of the standard option which is the Audi rings logo. But you seem to think you should have got the Rings as standard anyway even though you chose to upgrade/purchase the optional Quattro logo. In other words, because you have upgraded, you won't get the original part. Like someone eluded to, it's liking upgrading your alloys for the V-spokes. You don't get the standard ones to fall back on either.

Same with the seats. I went with the optional super sport seats, but I don't get the standard ones to put back in if I get bored..

It seems that even though the book says they come with the Audi rings the dealer actually fits them rather than the factory.

Maybe that's why you have the Quattro logo and standard lights?

I went with what it came with and have the Audi rings installed and the standard lights in a box in the glove box.

Are the quattro lights offered as an official optional extra? I had a quick look and couldn't see them.
Therefore, in theory, they shouldn't be fitted anything but the rings for Audi Beam?

They're both offered as genuine accessories.

The latest brochure list the Audi Beam (Audi Logo) as standard fittings , so can't understand why they're listed as chargeable accessories unless that's just a generic list and not just for the S3?

As far as I see it. The car comes with the rings standard.

I ordered the Quattro lights as an optional extra. Not an upgrade. Not to replace what was standard. I paid full price for them in addition to the standard rings it should have come with.

No word from Audi CS yet. May have to chase tomorrow.

But you wouldn't expect to get the original alloys if you ordered the optional v-spokes??

The puddle lights were not installed by the factory in error on for a few weeks. This has now been resolved so every car that should have had them will now.

Also, if you were to add them to your configuration it could be because you also want them for the back doors.

The quattro lights are an optional accessory; wheels are not optional even though you can chose others.

Its not the same because the rings should have been fitted to the door from the factory, and my optional accessory have come separately. I had standard lights on the front and the dealer fitted them on delivery.

I want the rings on the back doors - thats my aim.

So the dealer got back to me:

‘When you originally ordered your new car, puddle lights (Audi Beam) was not standard as your order was placed as a 2017 model year.

However the manufacturer was able to upgrade you free of charge to a 2018 model year as this change took place during your build cycle, however, the Audi Beam was unfortunately missed off as a result of the upgrade.

On your original order you placed, you included the addition of the quattro lights as at the time, these were not standard and the quattro was very appropriate on your new S3.

As these are now a standard feature, I am happy to refund you the full cost of these totalling £103.58.’

I’m not sure this is correct as we know it was standard on all S3 models not just new model year however I requested instead of a refund they order some rings lights and put them on the rear which they will do when the car is in next week to have the roof replaced.

Good outcome but as you say they're not correct in what they say, the brochure mentioned Audi beam as standard way before the MY18 was in flow!
