Hi all

I'm about to buy a Audi A5 black edition 2014 and its got Sat Nav with 2014 maps

How do you upgrade the maps without getting ripped off from the dealer

There is two empty SD cards and a Audi Juke box HDD

Where is the sat nav maps these days ?

Been a while since I owned an Audi

Many Thanks

I asked the same question earlier this year for my 2014 maps. Because Audi charge a small fortune.

This thread has links on ways to do it. 'with risks'

Personally I find it 'bonkers' on how long this takes to achieve an update. So still on the 2014 version.

Last resort I can always use the iPhone offline maps for the any new roads for free.

Yer it is bonkers 3hrs to update.

But it does update the firmware to, which i believe gives software tweaks, and updates the graphics???

Thou i could b wrong...i need to do mine in my 2013 A5 but i dont trust myself to do it myself as downloading and converting the data from the web to a "formatted" SD card is a bit tech savy for me, and i dont know if i'd b downloading all the correct stuff..

I'd feel far safer watching somebody who knows what there doing, do it and then paying them a normal ( read not overly expensive ) fee..

Very useful links thanks!

If you use the Google Maps aspect of the Sat Nav is it simply overlaying the satellite imagery to the MMI stored maps or is it actually taking the most recent map data from Google?
