Hi all, owned my A4 for two weeks now and got a few questions I hope you can help me out with.

1) Intermittent wiper - put the stalk on intermittent and it does one wipe and then stops. Increase the speed dial one notch and it does one wipe and stops. Dodgy stalk or something else?

2) Bluetooth - I have a Concert 2 (I think, it's the one below), can a bluetooth module (Dension BT Lite is what I was looking at) be added to this one? Not bothered about usb/aux. Does it need coding?

3) How do you get the cupholder out of the dash? Mine's full of coffee and the mechanism is all sticky, I'd like to take it out and stick it in the dishwasher.

4) Extra cupholders - are there any decent options or am I looking at something off ebay?

I'm sure I'll think of more :D

Thanks :)

Hi mate welcome to the wonderfull world of Audi's and Deep pockets lol i will try and answer what i can.
A1. The intermittent wiper only does 1 wipe. its intermittent!, the scroll sets the delay between each wipe. Highest speed 1 wipe every 2 seconds, lowest speed 1 wipe every 10 seconds and anything in between!.

A2. Yes you can get Dension units for most stereos, should all be listed on there website what one is compatible. Can i ask is it for BT you want it so as you can stream Music via BT?. Your car may have already BT but will not allow you to stream music, just allows you to pair a handset for calls incoming and out going. The best way to check is put your ignition on and straight away search on your phone for BT devices. if Audi UHV is detected then your car has a BT module fitted. But not all! No the stereo does not need coding if its already in the vehicle.

A3. Not sure how to get it out, i had a sticky cup holder. i just used Rag and WD40 and gently worked it in and cleaned it as i went. Now working great. There about £25 - £40 to buy new i believe.

A4. No other OEM units available. everything else cup holder wise just looks tacky dude. Keep it clean.

1) yeah I get that, but it does one wipe and then stops completely. Increase the speed a notch and it does one wipe and then just stops.

2) yep just streaming music. Pretty sure it doesn't have bt already, but even then I'm not bothered about calls.

3) I'll give that a try, thanks.

4) that's what I was worried about, I don't want go sticking tacky ***** in it!

With regards to the wipers, is it actually raining? Sounds to me like you've got rain sensors/auto wipers....

Yeah it was, that's why I noticed. Enough that I ended up just putting it on normal.

ah yes , everyone says that......give it a few weeks / months and I bet you'll be looking at a lot more goodies....

I had the same head unit in my old bus and no oem BT, bought a dension kit , worked for a couple of weeks then stopped communicating with my iPhone via BT...gave up with it in the end and just purchased a decent head unit, been more than happy since.

Thanks for the replies so far, I thought of another couple...

5) I occasionally (twice in 600 miles) get the EML on and it reports 'system too lean'. From reading this is most likely a small air leak, but is there any common things that are likely to fail and that I should check first?

6) I only have one key, can the pin/skc be pulled from the dash on these (I have the colour DIS) like on older cars? I've successfully done it with a mk1 TT but don't want to mess anything up... I can imagine a key from a dealer is expensive but it may well end up easier...

There was something else which I've forgotten, but I'm sure it'll come back to me....

I've remembered what it was... single point entry (one click for drivers door, two for all doors) is on, how do I turn it off? I want to unlock everything with one press.

Thanks

hi lawrenceH the one click settings can be done via VCDS I had it done to mine also you can have an alarm type beep go off when you lock the car. for your audio I had a Denison unit in my car4 when I purchased it be carful what you buy as some units only work in mono as they connect through the radio and utilise the same setup for play back as for phone calls . the best way to get round this I found was to buy an aux cable for my head unit and then buy a separate bt receiver this way you get the benefits of the whole sound system in the car. hope this is some help

Managed to find the single point entry thing and turned it off. Also got the Bluetooth fitted (Dension BT Lite) which connects through the CD changer port on the back, works really well. Only not so great thing is the lack of track names, but the more expensive unit does that. Didn't want to spend another £70 to see which song it is when I can probably tell anyway.

As for the wipers, I think it was just me being impatient. It does appear to work but is nowhere near sensitive enough. Is there any way of making it more sensitive? I usually end up just knocking the stall downwards occasionally instead of using auto.

Key has been ordered from a dealer, £209

Cup holder was a piece of cake to get out in the end, ran it through the dishwasher and it's good as new.

did you manage to turn the one click off with out going into the module via a obd cable ?
does the Denison unit you have playback vi bt with all speakers in the car ?

Nope, did it in vcds.

Yes, uses all speakers and sounds good. Only thing to be aware of is to move the Bose wire from the old connector to the new one.
