Last time I called Adrian Flux they said I had too many mods for them (and that's not even a joke! To be fair I did feel like I was wasting allot of the persons time listing everything on the phone when I could have just sent an email or text), I like to think my mods are fairly subtle which makes it hard for me to declare them, especially when even "modified car insurance companies" have limits.

Stripped the inlet manifold off ready to take to work to put in parts wash monday.... had to order a gasket tho. Euro car parts £17 yet audi want £5 bargain of day. While car out of action ive borrowed myself a Q5 for week. Not a bad alternative to my load lugger

This seem to have died a bit so ill put some life back into it today the old girl had her yearly health check all good new cv and blub passed for another year

well on a wet old Saturday afternoon spent 45mins replacing my offside trackrod end.
Now its not really a major task and sometimes can be problematic but it really had overcome two of my local tyre centres, went down to my local one a few weeks back to get the front tracking toe adjusted and all was spot on except the front offside and they just couldn't free up the locking nut so left it alone , I did my front suspension the following week and decided to go down again yesterday to another place to get them done again after swapping over all the dampers etc...seemed like a plan I thought, nope yet again they were stumped and were not able to shift it.
they recommended I get it done at my local audi centre as it was a big problem....I said fair enough and left without any charge but no adjustment either.

Decided I wasn't having any of this dealer millarchy and nipped down to my local ECP for a new trackrod end, all in it took me 45mins to do the replacing , and to be honest I cant see why they had such an issue.
The locking the nut was soild but the actual fitting unscrewed no problem from the rack end....anyway going down tomorrow for the 3rd attempt and hopefully they will be able to get it done....sometimes I really do think garage have staff that don't really have a clue on how to overcome relatively straight forward problems.
that mashed up locking nut was the end result of two tyre centres attempts to adjust my tracking....

So that's another problem solved , and the old bus just carries on going.

i feel your pain working in the rain, i've just spent n hour in it swapping a fuel hose on a 306 hdi, it connects the filler neck to the tank. my only shelter was the wheel arch.

Anyway our b7 gained apple carplay. i'm quite impressed with it, although 30 minutes after getting it all in the ebay rear camera arrived so i guess thats tomorrows job, along with swapping the rear number plate led's as they ping bulb failure every 5 seconds.

Had a new clutch and DMF fitted on Friday (£714)

Got 133k out of the old ones so not too bad really

What car and was that parts and fitted for that price ?

Every other local garage wanted £1k + to do the job

Ours was the same and then it just started to grind and badly judder when pressing the clutch in. Did the Flywheel at the same time as it just made sense

The 140, still cheap compared to all the other quotes I got in the area

It's been a while since I did anything to the wagon....
Today I took the dampening foam out of the airbox.... Test driven it after though I haven't noticed any increase in sound it does however goes slightly quicker due to the reduction in weight of the foam.
0-60 in 6.8 as oppose to 6.9!

Would any of you be able to tell if my car is remmaped if i post the log of a 3rd gear pull for 1500rpm to red line? 2.0T BUL engine. Reason im asking is i keep getting p0171 error code and local audi specialist told me its probably due to a bad re map but i dont think the car has been remapped at all.

Engine is starting to look more like an engine now! Timing covers on, ancillaries on, now to work out where this rat's nest of pipes go :-s

Got the metal polish and light wire brush out yesterday and went at my sooty exhausts for fifteen minutes.

Although they're in different light you can see how much I got off and it's really lifted the back end.

I get that occasionally (2.0t BWE) and reckon it's a vacuum leak somewhere. Need to find the time to investigate.

To keep the thread on-topic, I bought a proper VCDS cable to replace an iffy knock-off one.

I got the 3-vin hex-v2 one from Gendan, £225 all in. Got the cheapo one when the mrs got her TT, makes sense now we have two Audis to have a proper one with support etc.

Any pointers on where we can get them dipped from? I have the silver trim and would like to give them the CF look. Believe the OEM would be tad more expensive.

a friend of mine does dipping but is based in Erith, Kent.

nice socket work martin, I take it the socket in question wasn't a quality item then.....also chap, liking the alloys a lot , 18" or 19" , really suit the car .....and dare I say when you get the centre caps on it will be the dogs dangly bits.....now its nearly as nice as my old bus, not quite as good but nearly as good..lol

Fitted Dension BT Lite
Turned off stupid double click to unlock

Couldn't get the total opening/closure going.... it's coded and adapted but still doesn't work. More investigation needed.

Did another scan with VCDS after a 80 mile trip.

p0507 - idle control system RPM - higher than expected - fault frequency 7
p310B - Low Pressure Fuel regulation - Fuel pressure outside specification - intermittent - fault frequency 7
P2279 - Leak in Air intake system- fault frequency 1
P2187 - Bank 1 System too lean at idle- fault frequency 1
p0441 - EVAP emission control incorrect flow - fault frequency 1

(On older scans things like p507 have a fault frequency of 17)

Ordered new N80 valve and goin g to clean MAF sensor hopefully it will cure some of the problems. if that fails ill maybe try PCV even though it was changed only 6 months ago by local garage. Ill also change all ignition coils and spark plugs while im at it if those dont fix the problem.

I also read somewhere that some of these problems could be due to High pressure fuel pump being faulty.

Fitted rain try cover/battery cover and fitted replacement Audi rings badge on engine cover as mine had gone walkies. Gave the engine bay a bit of a clean and some Autoglym protection too, came up very nicely!

:D

The 'after' pic looks great. Where did you get the rain tray cover and battery cover cover from?
