Hi Everyone,

So my RS3 is due to being construction on the 23rd October, which leaves me having to start planning to move on the S3 Sportback. Audi haven't offered me what I need to settle the finance, but they also recommended that I sell the car private because of how it is immaculately maintained and their custom doesn't give the car the attention it deserves.

I will be looking to let the car go up to a month before the RS arrives, depending on what offers I get. For those who wouldn't prefer to buy direct from me, I have the ability to sell the car through a specialist car company local to me keen to move it on. So it will come with full aftercare facilities, as well as full finance options. Audi ave also offered to sell the car for a price I desire on my behalf. I'd be interested to hear offers from anyone who may be seriously interested. If the car is wanted sooner, maybe I can work something out for a strong offer.

The car currently has 9000 miles on the clock, I estimate in 2 months time this will be around 11,000 miles. By which time it will have had its first service at Audi, the car is going on a fixed term package so every 10k or 12 months, which will be done next month. The car had four brand new Pirelli P-Zero tyres at around 8000 miles, supplied and fitted by Audi.

The condition of the car is outstanding, it is in showroom condition minus 4/5 stone chips on the front as expected. The car was detailed by BMC Autoperfection with Gyeon MOHS+ in March. The car has been back every month since for a maintenance detail around my weekly washing and maintenance. The car is maintained to an impeccable standard, wheels removed every couple of months for a thorough clean of the arches etc to give an example. The car a week ago had a top up on the ceramic coating with Gyeon Can Coat, as recommended every 6 months to preserve the 2 year lifespan of the coating. BMC can be contacted for a reference on the car, he can vouch for how it is cared for.

The car has had the centre box delete, but I also have the silencer ready to be re-installed if the new owner wanted this before purchase.

The car has a £38k list price at Audi with the options list that I will include below.

Please find the specification list below as per the invoice:

Audi S3 Sportback S-Tronic, 310PS, October 16 registered.

- Metallic Paint; Nano Grey

- 19" Alloy Wheels; "5-arm wing design"

- Audi Magnetic Ride

- Parking System Plus (Front and Rear Sensors)

- Folding Door Mirrors

- Hill Hold Assist

- Privacy Glass

The car has a tracker installed, a Vodafone CobraTrak 5 that was installed by Cardiff Audi at a cost of £1045 on 1st November 2016, fully warranted up until 2019 as with the rest of the car. There will be a fresh 1 year subscription on the tracker as of October, at a cost of £215. If the tracker isn't required, you can opt to have it removed for a discount.

I have finally been able to attach a couple of photos after much hassle, but if you require more I shall email some over.

I hope it is alright to post this in this part of the forum because it isn't for sale yet, it's just positing on the off chance that someone might be interested in it.

Thanks,

Matt.

I can't get it to play ball :(
if your images are too big just whack em into ms paint and reduce the size by 60%, works everytime for me, obviously it depends how big your pics are in the first place (nexus 6p camera for me)

Surely the Mac has an app corresponding to MS Paint.

Figured it out now, finally. There is something relatively similar, just a lot less useful haha.

Managed to get a couple of photos on the original post.

Price your car accordingly a month before your new car is delivered, you'll get a valuation from a few sites Autotrader pistonheads etc.....at this time these sites take into consideration your spec aswell

Downside your cars colour, could take longer to shift for a small specialist car dealer, who maybe your bet for a buyer anyways good luck

I don't plan on advertising it myself, you're giving an open invitation to the scum of the earth to come and meet you keys in your hands.. no chance.

The colour is really good, if you like grey ;) Thought it was unlikely but worth a try to see if anybody on here was looking.

Hopefully £31k. Been offered £28,700 for it.

I have a touch up kit, but that often makes them look a lot worse.

But try that lankta solution that @GSB grant uses or get a chipex kit and persevere with them, they'll dissappear

£28,700 is a very good price for your car given its spec and mileage
I was offered less £27500 a year past in May with 11k miles on it and my Car has a lot more options even then l only owed just under £26k back then

Who offered you that amount?

I will have to look into it, but I've ignored them because they will likely otherwise stick out like a sore thumb.

I was offered £28,000 by Audi and £28,700 by a trader.. which was according to Auto Trader.

The RS has been set back now, gone from 27th November to October 23rd and now moved back to 13th November.

Autotrader is most likely your best price, prices will rise a bit come the
Autumn but not much

Looks like I'm going to have some negative equity to pay then :/ haha! Wouldn't be so bad if I had discount on the RS3.

I don't want to leave it too late to sell, as Christmas creeps up I'm sure it will be more difficult. With my build now slipped back 2 weeks, it leaves me nervous to sell several weeks before the car arrives. I don't need the car as I work half a mile away, so will have to wait and see.

My insurance also runs out 18th October, if I don't have a car to insure on the 19th you lose your NCB? I'm led to believe you have to continuously use it or it is invalid.

@AudiNutta - May be worth getting rid of your S3 SB before the RS3 arrives so as not to lose too much money. Then buy a £500 runaround until the RS3 arrives. It defo be easier to shift on and you never know if you buy right you may make some money

Insurance wise. Your NCB is valid for 2 years if you don't renew
When I sold my old A4 & was waiting for my new S4 to be built/delivered I had a break of around 7 months. If your not sure speak with your current insurer

Agree with Bristle Hound. You can have a break in you insurance and still claim NCB.

To be honest, you are selling a 40 grand car after 12 months - you are going to loose money on the deal. Also, after only 12 months, superb condition is likely to be less relevant, because all cars of that vintage will be in good condition.

October is the time to sell and you'll get your first payment statement in from Audi then as well... Used prices yoyo so keep a keen eye on it after August

It would surprise you what some cars look like even after 6 months nevermind 12 months.... So one in great condition should fetch a little more

Also @AudiNutta put the exhaust back to stock before advertising.... Used car buyers are a suspicious lot

I had thought of changing sooner and getting a cheap car, but the longer I am in the S3 agreement the better the settlement will get.

Glad to hear the insurance NCB is fine, somebody told me a while back it has to be a continuous cycle to earn it.

The cars list £38k, the good thing was that I only paid £34k which has made a change somewhat possible.
I've seen a few rough cars, including sales demos that have light bumps and scuffs without any thought. The car is cherished, haha.

Agreed, I've seen some rough cars. This is where a private sale would be better, because the individual is more likely to appreciate the way it has been meticulously maintained.

The exhaust will definitely go back standard before it is advertised to your average punter, but I listed it on here as the majority of S3 owners on here talk about having it done.
