I'm planning on utilising those blank buttons on the dashboard for garage and gate remote switches.
I've purchased a spare multi-button unit and have swapped over the moving buttons to replace the static ones and have also added the surface mount switches onto the pcb. All seems to work ok physically in that, the buttons click like all the others and I have continuity across the pins when holding the button down but I'm not getting 12v out of the pin location I thought I would.
If anyone can share the Elsawin details for the 20 pin connector that goes into this unit I'd appreciate it.

Cheers.

Had another look and realised it's a switched earth from the dashboard button switch.
So just needed to put a bridge across the remote control's switch and supply an ignition switched live to it as the activation will now be done by the dashboard button completing the earth circuit.

It's good to have those redundant buttons doing something useful and saves having to carry around multiple remotes.

Great minds think alike :)
That would have been useful to read before I did it but it's not too difficult, just takes a bit of thinking about.
The splitting of the dashboard multi-button unit is awkward and needs to be done in a certain order so as not to break anything. I took photos as I went so if anyone else is interested in doing something similar let me know and I'll post pics.

Please post your pics here, lets use our forum as a share point for everyone else might want to do the same! Thanks for sharing in advance!

I'll put the pics up with a bit of an explanation over the weekend when I have a bit more free time.
