Hi guys,

I took my car for an alignment after noticing uneven tyre wear, and they spent ages with the car saying "We couldn't adjust the alignment. The adjuster just kept turning and turning"

I didn't think to enquire at the time, but i'm booking my car in for some TLC during its next service ... any idea what is busted so I can do a bit of research as wallet protection

Sounds like they are talking rubbish, I'd be checking they haven't rounded off the nut on the track rod then made an excuse to cover it up. Only way it would turn without moving is if it was cross threaded, if it was cross threaded then the car is unsafe to drive and they shouldn't have let it leave without letting you know it could potentially disconnect from the steering.

Was it a full 4 wheel alignment or just the front toe in/out adjustment?

Well that doesnt sound too good. I hope it isnt related to the knock I get turning. Sounds like I best get it looked at!

Well if it's a full 4 wheel alignment there is more than just the track rod ends to adjust so I would think it'll be some other fixing that's the issue.
I would have thought though however that they should have pointed if out to you so can get it rectified

So, the track rod ends are fine and there's been no recent adjustment or attempts to adjust based on the patina of the nuts and rods ... so they must have bailed on the rears.
