Lads, anyone on here upgraded their fuel pump to a high pressure pump? I'm gonna look at getting one and was thinking of the Autotech internals, have heard some people go on that they are prone to failing but it's generally the map or the cam follower that causes the issues from what I've gathered.

Also thinking of going down the stage 2+ route, all I'll need is a front mounted intercooler, HPFP and maybe RS4 valve? Anyone in a 2.0t B7 done this already?

hi, i upgraded my hpfp last year to a loba its never skipped a beat, very good though they all seem pricey, i went for peace of mind putting a complete unit on. also means i have the stock pump spare if i have issues/want to revert back.
at the beginning of the year i had revo 2+ put on along with an sps switch, its awesome previously had bluefin. i would say im stil fine tuning my sps settings as i found issues after having the map, mainly a knacked actuator. its wel worth making sure everythings tip top before having mapped, id also sugest if you havent already upgrade your mounts, gearbox and engine

side note, add in some watermeth for more joys

Nice one bud! How you finding the car after the map and upgrades? Also what power are you making?

i do much like the added zip it has although with it only being 2wd it does tend to trash tyres quickly, however that mite be me.lol. im not sure for cost its worth it with regards gains wen comparing going stock to stage 1 and stage 1 to 2+ but its all relative anyway, for me i like nothing more than twidling with my cars.

What sort of gains did you get from stage 2+? Mine is at stage 1 currently with a few extra mods, I'd be expecting a good bit more power if I went for 2+, intercooler and HPFP should help.

Did you fit an RS4 fuel pressure release valve?

i dont know figures on the gains as ive never dyno'd it but it does have much beter mid range pull, it wil spin up in 2nd and 3rd ☺ altho it is 2wd. i would say the gains are a bit less/equal to goin stok to stage1. im stil on stok intercoolers so heatsoaks a fair bit but the meth fixes that greatly. yes i have an rs4 valve but mine is a v.early b7, it does help i think

I have VIS internals too. Not had any issues at all. Cost me under £300 during one of their special offers a while back.

Yeah it being front wheel doesn't help, still happy with the upgrade though? How do you find the water meth kit?

Nice one Benny, just checked them out online and they are £299 at the moment.

On a side note, would a pre owned one be okay or better off paying the extra for new?

the meth kit is definetly noticeable when its warm, as you get back the losses from heatsoak, it allows me to run a bit more timing too. i only have a basic 2 nozzle setup tho, its either on or off. i think it comes on about 15psi boost. just considering a progresive control as i can empty my smal tank quite quickly.

im very happy with the upgrades on both counts, i do believe there is something to be said about what people are used to and have experience with as to the impresion of how good/bad upgrades are.

I would just get new. Piece of mind I guess.
