Its much cheaper on Ebay mate. £180 per pair. And they fit spot on and look amazing. So good I have bought another set for my A3 which have the same covers.

Well just got myself some carbon mirrors off rs246.com. Also got some pipercross filters. So will see if they make any difference.

Just need to now work out how to get the old mirrors off.

Might chicken out and get a local body shop to do it. Have an Audi approved one round the corner. So might enquiry on price.

Back from holiday. Done almost 2,000 miles in the RS4 and it's not missed a beat. Loved driving it and just want to find an excuse to drive it. The noise of the V8, the grip, the whole package. Think this car will be a keeper. Only downside so far is that the noise I hear when changing gear sounds like a gearbox issue. Might be a synchro mesh issue. If so it might be a whole new gearbox. Luckily car is still in warranty. Got the car booked into my local Audi tomorrow.

my local Audi and have just called to say that the issue is with the gearbox with 4th and will need a new gearbox. Bad news is that the last owner didn't get the gearbox oil changed when he sold it. The Audi garage did the change but the car had done 49,000 miles. The oil should of been done at 40,000. So there is a possibility that Audi might reject the warranty claim. Am hopping that is not the case. If that does happen I will be going back to the Audi garage I bought it from for them to either fix the car free of charge or request my money back. So a bit annoyed and nervous ATM...

Was it a different franchise? That's probably the reason for their logic. 'Not their problem" type thing. But I imagine worst case, the garage you bought it from will do the work. Is it far from you?

Was a different franchise that's a 2 hour drive so not too bad. To be fair to my local Audi they have been upfront and honest and happy to do the work if Audi says it's covered under warranty. Just not sure if having the oil changed 9,000 miles late will mean they say no.

Warranty claim has been rejected by audi U.K. Due to the oil change being so late. So hoping the dealership I bought it from will step in. If not I am not sure what I am going to do. Feel like **** ATM.

That's crap that. They have to mate. Did they even bring it up to you (of course they didn't)before sale? Naughty. They should have a log of what's been done and when. Knowing fine well this might flare up. IMO

Issue is now with the head of sales at the dealer I got it from. They said they need to talk to my local dealer, their service guys and the head of the business before they get back to me tomorrow. Not sure what they will do. Luckily they are a big dealer so they helps. But part of me things they will do nothing or just offer to pay for some of it. As the issue is logged on the Audi network I cannot even part ex the car in and could sell it privately as would feel guilty. So last resort is having to pay for it myself but hoping it won't come to that.

Bit of an update.

I spoke to the garage I got the car from and they have agreed to swap the car and currently coming up with the options I have. But have a feeling I won't find a car with the same spec as mine. But am a bit happier I won't be stung with having to replace the gearbox. But now just unsure what I will get instead.

I see TONNES of Ibis and Sazuka ones on Autotrader. Pretty confident you'll find what you're after in their dealer network. Glad you're not getting stung.

The RS4 is being picked up on Monday by the garage and getting a 17 plate S6 as a temporary car. They are going to look at the car and then decide what to do. Only issue is that they think it will take 4-6 weeks to work out what they do.

Certainly a nice replacement for now. They've got that part right at least. They got any others you fancy in their network?

Not mentioned any other cars. think they are trying to work out what is the best option and what would cost them less. It might be cheaper to just replace gearbox then buy the car back and clear my finance so I am not out of pocket and sell at auction.

Has this put you off the Razza?

Still love the car and would happily have them just fix it and give it back as it's the spec I want. If not then will look for another one but only if the spec is right. Might end up getting a temp car to get me to work and back whilst I look for the perfect car.

That's good to hear. Hopefully they just do the right thing and fix it. Fingers crossed for ya man.

I was so happy for you mate reading the first page of this thread.
Hopefully it gets resolved and they put you in another rs4. This for me is only downside to choosing the rs4 over the b9 s4. The chances of something going wrong are higher.

Thank you. It is the downside. But if you ever get to drive an RS4 in dynamic mode. Hearing the noise of the V8 then you could never go to an S4. It just doesn't look or sound like the RS4. What ever happens I will be owning an RS4

RS4 has been picked up and have the S6. First impressions are that it's nothing like the RS4. It's quick but feels soft and doesn't have the v8 roar of the RS. Will see how I get on when I have proper drive. But think i will still prepped the RS.

Yea i know what you mean. Technically great and fast but no fun or emotional connection. Shame you can't get a B8 built like a C7

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Hope all works out for you, and back into the RS soon.

Or get it free like I did!
But that was a bit of goodwill after they told me they broke my rear bumper!
My car went in to have the exhaust trims changed as they were pitted, do the nav update and try to sort out the rattly sunroof.
They did the trims but as they removed the bumper it split at the top where it clicks into the side under the fuel flap.
They have been good about it and on Monday it is going on for a new bumper and they are going to have another go at the sunroof as that is still noisy.

If you have remaining warranty then don't worry....I had a 10 plate Q5 that was creaky and read that a tech guy from audi Germany was flown over to do a special weld to one? I think it's just a flex issue that possibly just requires regular grease but yeah bought the car which had had a new blind motor fitted and mentioned the cream I'd been aware of and they looked at it and not sure what they did but it's in again for the snapping sound and they reported they were replacing cassette as I'd hinted at that before. Someone in here had theirs done to! These cars despite teething issues are just brilliant and no other marque provides the full package like Audi! Go well my friend and post pics when you took that leap into the RS4 squad

Haha. There are people that think I'm mad for giving up the quality and tech as well as interior and lighter chassis of my B9 S4. I've come to truly respect it and it's everyday capability. It truly feels like a £50k car. But the heart wants what the heart wants and it's all about the smiles. I'll probably look at at an extended warranty.

Finally got some information out of the garage. The plan is to repair the damage. Hopefully that means a new gearbox. So that is some good news. Just now have to wait and see how long that will take.

Just had a call from the garage and the news is not good. They have decided that its not cost effective to replace the gearbox, so the options are a replacement car or my money back. So am a bit annoyed and upset as thought I was getting the car back. What he told me next made me very annoyed.

They have told me that the previous owner refused to replace the gearbox oil at the previous service as he could not afford it. Not long after that the owner noticed the noise and took into the dealer (that I got the car from) and they said audi would not do anything as the oil was not changed. so what he did next shocked me. he went to the sales guys and sold the car to them. for some reason the sales guys never checked with the service department. so the owner knowing sold the car with a faulty gearbox which they then sold onto me.... not sure how that can happen and does make me think do I want another car from them.....

so I am now waiting for options of replacement cars. not sure what to think at the moment. worst case I will get my money back and will demand I get back any finance payments as well..

This...is a disgrace. My advice? Get all your money back and go elsewhere. Two possibilities:

1) They knowingly sold you a damaged car.

2) They were incompetent enough not to check the ****** service history in which case, what 'else' could happen down the road?

Sorry bud. Go find a better RS4 experience. If you don't mind travelling, I can PM you a brilliant dealer. My dealer.
