Hey folks.
Did my cruise control retro fit today.
I've plugged in my vcds but I can't clear the airbag light and the esp light won't go off!
Even after a 10 mile drive the esp light hasn't gone off!
Vcds won't clear the airbag light and I can't seem to get the cruise working via vcds.
Im assuming the airbag light has something to do with the slip ring after I removed the steering wheel?
Can someone/anyone help me with any of the above??
Thanks.

Ok so I've managed to get rid of the airbag light and the esp light. Had to take the steering wheel off again to check the slip ring. I forgot to plug the yellow plug right at the back in doh!!!!......
still can't get the cruise to work though.
I've coded the steering wheel for cruise, inputted the code in the engine section (11463) on vcds. When I look at the values in the steering wheel section, it says the cruise is there but it won't work!! I'm confused.

Have you lost steering radio controls as well? I did when I did my cc, I suspect on mine I might have moved the slip ring a bit and now lost a connection somewhere. Had the wheel of a couple of times to check for a loose plug but can't see anything. I don't have any dash lights on though, just vcds says no connection to steering wheel.

I think I heard once that a dodgy/failed clutch switch might cause issues as well

Steering wheel controls work fine.
Lights on the dash have gone. I forgot to plug in the yellow slip ring connector at the back.
I've just got no cruise control.
I have read about the clutch switch. I'll plug my vcds back in later and test the clutch switch.
When I switch the cruise on, should it come up on my multi function display that it's on?

Yes when you drive over about 20mph you can hit set and the green light will come on the dash. Stalk has to be in the middle position, all the back is off.

As. Mentioned above might be a faulty clutch switch.
Mine had it toasted and I needed to change it..
It costs just under 20 quid from audi and its an easy fit.
Plug VCDS, go into engine module, measuring blocks, type 006 and enter and press the clutch.
One of the 4 field should read the clutch being pressed. If nothing happens you found your problem.
If you see the values of one of the fields change its because the clutch switch is good and you need to take a look at the work done.
Hope it helps.

Right I've plugged the vcds back in and checked the clutch switch. Nothing is registering on the measuring blocks when I press the clutch, so I'm guessing it's the clutch switch!! Just ordered one from Audi.
I'll get it fitted when it arrives and fingers crossed it cures my cruise control woes lol.

Good luck, keep us posted

Taking the old switch out is just a matter of twisting counter-clockwise and it will only turn the rest of the quarter turn when you press the clutch pedal.
Just be careful fitting the new switch.
Press the clutch start turning it clockwise and release clutch pedal slowly while you keep turning it to be in its place.
Then just connect the plug and you're done.
Hope you get it sorted.

Finally have working cruise control. It was the clutch switch causing the problems.
I fubar'd the first switch I bought in my stupid immature rush to fit the ****** thing lol. Bought a second switch and fitted it properly this time. Took the car out and it worked straight away.
Im a happy boy.
