Sooooo, last Friday whilst coming home I had the dreaded flashing coil light on the dash.
Turned off and back on and it's gone for awhile only to appear back, upon getting home I ran a quick scan and found faults relating to the flap valve, now it has been a bit lumpy of late and occasionally carries on for a beat after switching off.
So I decided to strip off the flap valve/egr and manifold and give them a good clean, I'll stick some photos up when I get time but suffice to say it was all pretty horrible!
After cleaning it all and putting it back together it ran better than it ever has... Until today when had the flashing coil light again and a host of errors this time..
As seen below, I'm pretty sure that the flap valve is dead or dying as it had part of the rubber seal hanging out and I had to split it and then reseal it . Whilst doing this i did notice that one of the plastic tags was broken and the drive to the gear system inside was in that there was no flat/tang or engagement as such.
Anyway, I gather that the flappy thing can cause errors within the airflow system so I reckon that's the place to start.
Where's the best place to get one,and what the damage gonna be does anyone know?
